If you're going to get TF2 you should just get The Orange Box. That includes Portal which is possibly the most awesome PC game in a long time. Portal and TF2 separately are $20 each, and The Orange Box is $30, and also includes Half Life 2, Half Life 2: Episode One and Half Life 2: Episode Two.
Do you at all like classic point and click adventures? If so, The Longest Journey is a somewhat difficult one (though of the sort where you can't do anything that permanently costs you the game like in King's Quest) with an awesome story that you should check out at $10.
Sid Meier's Pirates! is an awesome game that allows you to play in fairly open fashion the role of a pirate in the Caribbean. Follow the story to rescue your family, or just have fun sacking cities, holding up (or just sinking) ships, wooing governors' daughters and hunting down lost treasures. $10
Civilization V ($50) is out, and Civilization IV ($20) is cheaper. Whichever of those you prefer might be a great choice if you're into turn-based strategy.

Orange Box: I've seen so many LP's of Portal that if i buy it it will just feel empty, but i will get Portal 2. Also i know nothing about the Half-life Series but someday I will shell out the Cash to play it. The Rest: They All seem awesome i definitely going to get them Friend? Could you Friend me so we can play in the future.... who knows maybe we could start a POGOTribe Group on Steam
