Is anyone thinking about doing NaNoWriMo this year? (National Novel Writing Month: you write 50,000 words in 30 days.) I'm not, myself, but I am going to do a Script Frenzy instead. (Script Frenzy is usually in April. The challenge is to write 100 pages of script in 30 days.) 2010 ParticipantsNakorDianaUnfairbearFerreAlexNancy R.MatthewRogers91RobLandostarchaserElfladySorry for the duplicate thread. Click here for the original. I wanted to create a thread primarily for NaNoWriMo 2010, that's all. We'll see where it goes come November.

Third year running. Add me if you like, but let me know, cuz NaNo doesn't notify you when someone adds you, so if you want me to add you back I need to hear about it. www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/443168

pogotribe.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gfxsection&action=display&thread=4599This is my Third year doing NaNo, and I think I might jump off the deep end I'll be working weird full time hours at work (10:30pm to 7am), I am a ML for my area (person who runs a whole lot of events for wrimos), I am running the book drive for all of nova scotia (I am currently up to 269 books collected), AND I moderate a new forum over there, which is a lot more popular then what I thought it would be. And on top of all that, only my main character would tell me her name, and only recently too!! They are being very tight lipped and I don't like it

I'm going to try. I already have a magnificent idea that need to grow in my brain. Then on November 1st, it will explode on paper- er...-the computer.

I would do it, buuuuuuuut, its a bit too much work for me If you are still in school, you can do the Young Writer's Program. Instead of 50,000 word goal, you can set your own personal goal!! any of the younger people (in high school or lower) who were thinking about doing NaNoWriMo but were scared of the 50,000 word goal, the YWP would be perfect for you!

I'll participate for the first time now, because I found out only recently, thanks to Diana and even if I'd find it last year, the exams wouldn't allow me, so yeah. 50,000 words won't discourage me, even if I am all day in uni now, dying of tiredness.

I updated the first post with this year's participants! Hopefully we can make this a main thread for NaNo for this year? (Sorry for creating a second thread, Diana. I did not notice it.)
Even though I'll be doing a separate challenge, I'll still be rooting for you guys! =D

It's ok Erin! We'll use this as the main thread Also, me and Nakor came up with an idea to have a skype room for all the nanoers to get together to talk about plotting, how their stories are going and things like that. I'm also thinking about running word wars once November actually starts so it'll also be a good place to go during November to up your word count!! Just add me (frazzledog) to skype, and then get me to add you I won't mind at all (unless I'm in the middle of a word war when you ask then you would have to wait)

I would, but school and college applications are taking over my life. I might do a modified version of this in January, since all of the applying will be done by then (well, besides the FAFSA and scholarships, but at least most of it will be done). I would do Script Frenzy, but I'm insane and I am taking four AP tests this year, which are in May and I'm sure I'll be studying pretty much the whole month of April. I do want to participate in some form, even if it's not in November or April, because I've always wanted to finish a story that's longer than two pages.

I have decided I will participate. Unfortunately my original idea didn't fall under the rules, but I have a new one forming.

So what is everyone doing to prepare for NaNo? I've just been sketching characters designs right now (including background characters, because I'm silly like that). I may move on to designing some architecture as well within the next couple of weeks. On the writing front, I'm trying to get a near-complete outline done of the comic. Come November, I might just write whatever I feel like and edit it out later... I don't know at this point. If I find that I have finished my script for Henry and the Humans, I'll work on other projects until I hit 100 pages. (I may also count the pages I add to my Timothy Green script during November in the final page count.) For me, this challenge will be more about quantity than quality, considering that the scripts I write (except for Timothy Green) are going to be the first drafts of their given projects. Editing is for December.

All I've done really is write a basic outline for the story.

I wrote character names and descriptions along with a few things to remember to add when writing the story.

I thought of a sweet story idea on the way to work today. It was so sweet that I am considering doing this crazy thing. If I can come up with a character list and a cohesive outline by November 1, I'm in. We'll see. NOT SURE.

wait what... why didnt i hear about this until now... Well I must say I might just be in... kind of... maybe... ish... I dont know.. you know what count me in why not I doubt anything awesome will come from it but who knows maybe I can tell the epic adventures of my car which has seen more action than i have or maybe i could make something up on the spot or maybe i... i dont know i will figure it out... i just hope i dont procrastinate too much cause that would suck alot... www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/688675ohh i am going to need to really work fast to come up with something interesting... EDIT: ahh I cant think of anything... why... *hits head on desk* seriously why is it that i start with something about a cat then it becomes a parody of harry potter but with cats or i start really getting into a great plot then present my idea to a friend coworker or teacher and they go ohh like such and such on tv... ahhh.. i should have found out about this like a year ago so i could have properly prepared...
