Raydawn, there are plenty of reviews out there by avid gamers. People who are known for their skills and love of gaming. Do you really need IGN and Gamespot to tell you a game is a good game before you believe it's a good game? That's pretty silly. Besides that, there are several amazing Minecraft Lets Plays on YouTube. You don't have to buy the game to view these videos, and you can get a look at a few interpretations of the game. But it's a game based largely on imagination. Everyone plays it differently. So, yeah, if you hate games where your hand isn't held through a brief 10 hours of extremely limited gameplay and story, this isn't the game for you. Again, it is very, very clear to me that you haven't properly done the little research that is necessary to form a solid opinion. You're just spewing SHIRT based on an extremely old version of the game that definitely was aimed at a very specific type of gamer. If you have/once you have properly educated yourself on the game play and reception of this game, please, do share with us exactly what is so utterly improper or crappy about this game. I'd love to hear your opinion then. Also, it should be mentioned, this game is freaking Alpha. Not even Beta. The game is ages from being complete, so to imply that Minecraft is helping to ruin the gaming industry is absolutely ridiculous at this point. You go play World of Warcraft or Black Ops or Fallout or InsertWhateverGamesYouEnjoySinceIKnowYou'llBeADickAboutItOtherwise in Alpha and then try to tell me Minecraft isn't on par for shitlevels.

Call me crazy, but I like the DS and Wii. Also, Minecraft is not part of any real company. Notch pretty much owns everything about it.
Many professional game revewers have reviewed this game. They loved every part of it. Minecraft is an innovative game and deserves praise.

^I don't know if that was directed at Minecraft or the Wii and DS, but I'm not sure where you're coming from either way. I... don't even know what the gimmicky part of Minecraft is... there's no single feature that Minecraft is based off of. (Feel free to fill me in, I guess? Because it's obvious you know so much more about the game than I do.) I can see the gimmicky part of the Wii and DS. Well, sort of. A gimmick is supposed to just be there for the sake of being there. I'm prettttttttty sure the Wii has revolutionized gaming (in a good way). The Wii? Not a gimmick. Its unique control certainly makes it stand out, but that control isn't... stupid or irrelevant. It's pretty freaking fun. Xbox Kinect and Playstation Move? Gimmick. Those features were only added so they could say, "Hey, look, we can do what Nintendo did four years ago, AND LOL LOOK HOW MUCH BETTER WE CAN DO IT TOO WOW AMAZING!" There are quite a few Wii games that are based around the motion control and Wiimote... but they suck, and their sales reflect that (the same is now true for XBox Kinect and Playstation move). Many successful Wii games make excellent use of the Wiimote, and it's clear they weren't designed just so the developers could say, "lol look we made a game where you wave your hands around like an idiot." I won't argue with you on the DS, 'cause far more games for it are gimmicky. So yeah. Again, not sure what you're on about. Do you even own a Wii or a DS? Have you even played decent games on them (don't tell me you once played Wii bowling at your friend's house 3 years ago and you're just butthurt because you sucked)? There are tons of games for both that hold their own and are just freaking amazing. I got over the "gimmick" part of my Wii over three years ago, and I still love that thing to death. Side note: Today is my Wii's 4th birthday. Its name is Brii. How clever am I, right? Hooray!

Er, I happen to be an avid gamer (and know many more). So there's that?
For quite a few games, the Wiimote is treated like a traditional controller (just turned sideways). Also, there is no "flailing of the arms" (unless you're playing something like Wii Sports). I've played completely through The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and not once did I have to "flail my arms" to slash the sword. It's really just a comfortable flick of the wrist. It's as noticeable as pressing a button.
Again, it's quite clear you've never played anything more than 5 minutes of this and that, and perhaps an hour of Wii Sports. I've never felt awkward and dodgy playing the Wii, even for hours on end (nor have I heard anyone else report that). Probably because it doesn't. Maybe if you're playing the Wii for the first few times, it might feel a bit awkward as you're just used to sitting back in a chair motionless. But, just as you would for any other system, you get the just of the controls and everything becomes second nature rather quickly.
Errmm... wow. Most "old school gamers" play Mario, Zelda, Metriod, etc. Are you 14 or something? "Old school" is not 1998, dear. "Old school gamers," I find, love a pretty big range of games. I'm not quite old enough to be an old school gamer myself (19), but I have racked up hours upon hours on every major gaming system ever released.
Oh, you're one of those people that get butthurt about anyone who isn't a HARDCORE FUCKING GAMER picking up a controller, huh? Yeah, Wii does have casual games. Oh no? How could you ever get past the atrocity that is a casual game! *shivers* There are tooooooooons of "hardcore" games for the Wii, and a lot are Wii exclusive. And the games that aren't Wii exclusive aren't "toned down." Just because you have to get used to another controller doesn't mean you have to go crying to mommy. (I'll admit, there are some games that are awesome on the XBox or Playstation, but SHIRT on the Wii... such as Call of Duty; that was a pretty big fail. xD)
I find it rather pathetic how much you're speaking out of your ass about all of this. Your opinions are narrow minded and foolish, and on many counts, just rehashing the extreme viewpoints of crazed XBox and Playstation fanboys. It's fine if you don't like the Wii. It's fine if you enjoy Xbox and Playstation games. But there is no need to share your ignorant opinion about it just to get a reaction (quite frankly, you look like an ass and I'm having fun making these posts). If you were telling me you owned a Wii and had played hours of the best games, and still did not enjoy yourself, this would be a different case. But it's so incredibly clear that you haven't that it almost makes your opinion humorous.

Honestly, I played Super Mario Galaxy for 7 hours straight without flailing my arms (Besides when angry about stupid deaths). As Bree said, pretty much Wii Sports and 3% of other games involve flailing your arms back and forth.
The Wii is way more awesome than you say it is. It has provided me with way more enjoyment than a first person shooter could have ever brought me. Then again, I am a casual gamer I think. I like strategy games like Pikmin, too.
The Wii is really equal to the Play Station 3 and Xbox 360.
DS is really equal to the PS3 and whatever the xbox portable game thingy is if there is any.

What does that mean, Wii cant have fps n Is only for super Mario games? No it doesnt compare to ps3 or Xbox Cuz theyr different concepts, ps Xbox is trAditional n Wii is motion remote, which according to both of u is more a uneceasary gíimmick than a genuine dofference in gameplay

Well let me Ask u Then what is the benefit of the Wii??? ...To have casual games? I mean, I know they're the devil in your eyes, but some are quite fun. I don't always want to be playing an FPS or RPG. Sometimes I do just want to get up off the couch and play a casual game. It's a nice change of pace. Many avid gamers enjoy a wide variety of game genres. There's really nothing wrong with having an open mind. And as I mentioned before, many games have a very nice balance of being an epic, hardcore game with an appropriate, comfortable amount of use of motion control. In other words, a pretty freakin' awesome element of the game would be taken away if the game was adapted for another system. About old school playing nintendo classics, lol they did as a child but not anymore. Dont get me wrong i spent hours on the snes or n64 as a kid n zelda ocarin of time used 2 be my favorite game but i grew up. i used to love the power rangers too dosnt mean i still do... Wait, really? How many over 23 year olds do you know that have been playing video games their entire lives? I still love the video games I played as a child. I still love the video games I played last year. None of these games were ever aimed at four year olds. This isn't Nick Jr., buddy. Everyone grows out of loving Dora the Explorer and Power Rangers, but to say "lol they only liked those games as a child" is just silly. Oh so silly. Oh, I'm sorry, is any game without violence, murder, and 20 types of guns a child's game? D'awww, you're right! How could I ever think otherwise?
