A soup kitchen is a place where homeless people and those who are less-fortunate can go for a free meal. Food banks are places where people donate non-perishable food items to give out to the homeless and those who are less-fortunate. I'd be incredibly surprised if such places did not exist where you live, Sean. If they do I am not awear of them... I think it is more of an American thing. EDIT: Did a search in the "Yellow Pages" business directory... no such place exists in Reading, United Kingdom

Check with your local churches and homeless shelters. They will know of places you can donate food to and locations of soup kitchens. Upon further review, I see you are about an hour away from London. With a quick Google search, I see there are quite a few soup kitchens in London. It's understandable that some smaller towns/villages near large cities don't have easy-to-find soup kitchens.

I don't think churches are really places I will be seen in (unless dead)

Also, you do not have to enter a church to ask a question. They utilize this newfangled invention (I'm not too sure about it, it kinda scares me) called the telephone. ;P

No idea what Churches have and don't have... not a building I go to often enough...

In my local mall there is a Christmas tree where everybody can leave a present and then all the presents will be given to children of "less fortunate" families. Tomorrow I'm gonna buy a bunch (2-4) of presents to leave there and I'm thinking I should maybe label them "From: The Pogotribe" Comments?

We don't have that many homeless people here... at least those that you can see. I mean, we have people without homes, but they're not on streets holding sings or anything like that Who cares if they're on streets holding signs? What makes them homeless is the fact that they don't have homes. Why can't you buy them a Christmas present too? Are they not good enough to be truly homeless?

just a suggestion, perhaps we can organize some kind of synchronized SPOTM real world project day? like where we all do real world stuff then post about it afterwards?

I'm donating blood this week. What are you guys doing? =) just a suggestion, perhaps we can organize some kind of synchronized SPOTM real world project day? like where we all do real world stuff then post about it afterwards? How about a project week, which would give those with busy schedules time to do real world volunteering (and the like)? I'm all for it, and recall a similar project being proposed a while back.

I've done Positive Pranking before, and it's really fun. I know a lot of familes in my area who can't afford to buy presents for their kids. So I plan on doing a Positive Pranking run with Christmas Presents to those under privilieged familes. I can't donate blood, no matter how many times I try, I always freak out too much after the needles in me. They just take it out and I apologize profusely. Tell me what you guys think of "Prancer Pranking". Get it? It's Christmas time, and Prancer is a reindeer. HAHAHAHAHA! ...im not funny
