Ok Ok, This idea pops up on every forum, that I have been on (very few). In fact its probably here too if I looked.
But It's more of a personal project so sorry if you were looking for something ground breaking and complete community involvement.
That's not to say I don't need you guys. In fact it won't work with out you. I'm putting myself out there and need support.
I need to loss weight. Badly.
I need ideas that fit in my schedule i.e. sport tips, eating habits etc. With a plan worked out, I was thinking of setting up a youtube channel documenting my progress.
So help please?

I can help with this...
Step 1. Commit: You can never lose weight if you don't commit to it. It is this commitment that will allow you to overcome the struggles with weight loss. You have to stick to your plan if you feel bad, sore, sick, tired, lazy, busy, stressed, anything. Your plan has to be stuck to like glue - no deviations. If you do not commit, you will be going backwards. Often people who try to lose weight, fail and end up gaining because they cannot commit.
Step 2: Keep a journal. Make a schedule at the beginning of each day. Keep track of what you do each day. You're more likely to lose weight if you know how many calories you're taking in and how many you're burning through physical activity. A lot of people can improve their diet, simply by being aware of what they are eating.
Step 3: Make a plan ahead of time. Plan what you're going to do each day. Plan meals ahead of time. Don't let yourself fall whim to impulses.
Step 4: Eat healthy - don't count calories or cut carbs. Eat healthy foods. Follow your food pyramid. Get 6-10 servings of WHOLE Grains. Eat your fruits and vegetables. Make sure you get enough proteins. Make sure your dairy is low fat. Don't eat lots of simple sugars. Get enough fiber. Make sure you get all of your vitamins - not from supplements, but from actual food. The food pyramid isn't some random piece of crap that nobody uses - it's actually a very good guide.
If you are working out a lot - make sure you get lots of extra protein. Protein is often found in sources with fat, so make sure you are getting lean protein, like white meat chicken or pork as well as whole beans and fish (fish is really good - but don't eat too much b/c fish is often a source of bio-accumulation). Your body doesn't need too much (20-40g a day depending on your weight and exercise level), but protein helps your muscles rebuild which is good for allowing you to work out more. The more lean muscle mass you have - the faster your metabolism - the more fat you burn.
Step 5: Hydrate: Most people - are always dehydrated. Drink water. A half gallon a day - not all at once. If you work out - drink an entire gallon per day. Your body NEEDS water; to refresh itself, to heal itself, to burn fat, to rebuild muscle, to sweat, to pee, to do everything.
Step 6: Find a work out plan that works for you: Some people like to run. Other people lift weights. Others swim. Don't do what you don't like doing, do what works for you. A balanced work out plan is just as important as a balanced diet. A good work out regiment focuses both on cardio and aerobic workouts, as well as anaerobic workouts to build lean muscle mass. Find a plan that works for you. If you like water, you might try swimming laps for cardio, and resistance training for your anaerobic. If you like the gym, you'll probably prefer lifting weights for anaerobic and biking or rowing or treadmill for aerobic. Find a good plan for you.
There's hundreds of other tips. But these basically cover it all. I hope this helps.

@nancy : Thanks Mate!! ryan : The commitment idea was to do as I said a Youtube channel about it. So I'd be more inclined to do what I have planned. Good idea? Bad idea? Other than that thanks a million for the info mate. I'll keep you guys updated as I go along. I've started playing soccer with some guys in club twice a week. Hoping it helps a little. I know I need to do more.

Eat only healthy foods, and not too much of them.
And make sure you exercise... A LOT!

Ok here's the plan for now:
I've joined a local soccer club that just plays for fun. So that's 2 hours every week. I just got a pedometer and the plan is to everyday walk 10000 steps (thats about 1 hour worth of walking.) I'm also taking on Ryan's idea off a journal of what I eat. This should as he outlined give me a good indication of what I eat and how much.
Again guys thanks for the support.

Also, it would be a great idea if you chose a sport you liked to commit to. I swim.. Some run.. Or walk (I walk too..)
Yep. It definitely works.
