So I have this idea for a song "parody" I wanna do, but I don't want copyright issues. I understand that one can take the instrumental of a song and remake it (using the actual instrumental as a template of sorts) with their own instruments (or something like Fruity Loops or Garage Band) and it'd be fine. So, I'm wondering the best way for one to go about figuring out how to do that. I'm totally new to the world of audio software (beat software, really) and I don't know much about music theory. Is there something I could read or view to help me figure out how to do this? Alternatively, if someone thinks they could just help me out and make the beat, that'd be fine too! (If you wanna do that click HERE to download the instrumental I wish to use from Hotfile.)

Acoustica Mixcraft is amazing. It has video compatibility, too.

Hm, okay. Can it mimic an existing beat or do I still have to learn things to do what I wish to do?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean... It's really easy to use, if you have to learn anything.

As I put in my original message, I have the instrumental to a song that is copywritten. I wish to make a new beat that sounds like the copywritten work so that I can use it with no repercussions on YouTube.

Yeah, it's easy to use in that sense. The free trial is great, and I'm pretty sure you can still use it after the free trial with only a couple of limitations. I'm not sure, though.

I think Real wants to know if that software can copy the beat or if he has to do it by himself.

If it copies the beat, then it would still face copyright issues.

It would technically face the issues, but i've never seen those ones get taken down, often when i'm looking for a song all I can find are midi versions of it.

So it seems I'm still in murky territory with this, but I know many YouTubers (and Billboard artists) do it and nothing bad happens. Maybe they change the beat enough or something, dunno.
In any case, it looks like this MIDI direction is the way to go. Where do you folks go to get those files?

If you load a Midi into Acoustica Mixcraft, it sounds almost exactly the same as the original. And if you want to download one, just search "*name of song* midi" in the Gewegull.
