Trying to make a website for facebook.com/agnosticpageTrying to determine how to go about donations after it's made. Questions: 1, What is there to tell the government if you're taking donations? Like, it there anything to file? 2, What are good ways to go about taking donations, what to do with excess donations?

Here's my advice: 1. I'm really not sure. You might have to pay taxes, but i'm not sure of that. 2. You should probably set up a Paypal Account and put a donate button on the site. Make sure it's noticeable and you don't have to scroll down to see it. Also, from looking at your Facebook page, there seems to be a lot of discussions, so you should definitely set up a forum and make sure your host supports it. For software, I would recommend phpBB, and I would be willing to help with it.

You might need to register yourself as an NGO/Non profit organisation if youre meaning to organise events and take it seriously.

Islander, wouldn't be organizing events, it's an online community. I'm wondering if I DO need to register it even though it's just donations. Sean, we would need anywhere from 20-500GB monthly bandwidth, considering it would be a growing community. Chaos, going to set up a sit, we're already looking into all of that. And we know that too. #1 is what I'm mainly concerned about and want help with- if anyone is an accountant, PLEASE HELP! [Also, to anyone who is, WA laws.]

There are services which provide free forums.
