Third Discussion: The Death Penalty

Ok guys here is my third discussion topic, the death penalty.

Do you think it is right?

If so, why? and are there certain circumstances that you don't think it is?

If not, why?

Any alternatives?

Yes but only for poor people.

If so, why? and are there certain circumstances that you don't think it is? Because everyone always says there is too much poverty in the world and it's a fact poor people commit more crimes.

It's strange that this is coming from an Egalitarian Libertarian, but I support the death penalty. I believe that there are some people who really do deserve to die. In fact, I think public executions should start up again. Those who will kill a man, woman, or child for sport are truly needed to be disposed of. Hitler deserved to be tortured to death (it's a shame he shot himself), Saddam Hussein deserved to be hanged by the neck, and I bet you'd want to be Sadin Bin Laden's executioner if he were caught. Boxxy deserves to be shot multiple times as well xD

I agree with that. Too often, punishment in general seems to be about revenge, especially when it comes to the death penalty.

I don't like the death penalty but for a different reason. Many times people have been put to death FALSELY.

My wort fear would be to execute an innocent person. And many times people get convicted with less than 100 percent certainty. The death sentence is a sadistic cynical way to get rid of criminals. Wouldn't it be better to torture them in prison all their life INSTEAD of killing them and giving them the satisfaction of the doubt?

I'm kind of in the middle, some people would rather die than be in prison, others would rather be in prison. If they get rid of the death penalty they should have a special prison just for people who would have gotten it anyways, and it ahould be in a secluded Island or something like that. An eye for an eye does make the whole world blind but I don't want these people walking around able to kill again.
