Hello, my name is Boris and I'm from Argentina. (I know it sounds like and introduction but I have a point...) Ok, so, I've been watching Dan Brown's videos for a long time, my favourite is "An Open Letter to Educators", and today I found all this PogoTribe, and I checked out the wiki too. And I think it's a GREAT idea the whole thing, But... As it's in english it's only for those who understand the lenguage, and as it has a LOT of users the organization level goes down easily. So my suggestion (it's actually more like a request or a question or something like that) is that I was wanting to do a Spanish comunity based on the same idea as the PogoTribe, but not exactly a translation, it would be more like another version, in Spanish. So I'm publishing this post to ask the staff of the forum if they support the idea of me creating a Spanish Version of PogoTribe Forum.

PS: It would be really helpful if I get the email of any admin.

E-mails are in profiles. But you can e-mail every admin at pogotribestaff@gmail.com
It'd probably just be best to PM an admin on here, though.

I think it would be best to start out from sub-forums. right?

I also like this idea or just something where people can speak other languages than english (since I guess some of us - of which english isn't their 1st language - sometimesdon't fully understand everything that's being said
and therefore we could try using our awesome english comprehension to help others understand in a language in which they are more capable than english..
(*doubtful grammar?*)

This sounds awesome. We should definitely start with subforums, though. Then if any of the subforums get really popular, we should move them to their own forum.

I've got the people ready to start working on the proyect, it will be based on the idea of Pogo Tribe, but it will be diferent, eventhough we'll promote Pogo Tribe and Dan Brown and give them the credit for the original idea. So thnxs, I'll be in contact with you guys. and I'm looking forward to start using the forum

That could help people who might have trouble with English- even if it's just used for translation help. It could also make gatherings/discussions more easy, because the people who speak the same language (well, except for English) most likely live around the same area. All in all, a good idea, but we wouldn't want an entire Dutch SPOTM.. That'd just be awkward. Like 4 members

I think this is a very good idea! However, don't most internet browsers support translation? I use Chrome, and whenever I go to a site in a language other than English, it asks me if I want to translate it.

I've used most of the major browsers (IE , Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Opera, Flock) and it seems the Chrome is the only one that does that automatically, but I may be wrong.

I think this is a very good idea! However, don't most internet browsers support translation? I use Chrome, and whenever I go to a site in a language other than English, it asks me if I want to translate it. What I wanna do is more than a simple translation, is the idea of the SPOTM in another direction, but keeping the idea of the Pogo Tribe, I don't know if that makes sense. Besides in Argentina Youtube and this kind of proyects are undervalued, and I want to change that, even more, the whole internet is undervalued. The internet culture of my country equals Porn and Warez, there's no knowledge or public opinion. So it's more than a simple translation, Is a website comunity based on the Pogo Tribe for spanish speakers. Ah, and something that I wanna explain: My intention is not to "steal" the idea, it's to promote it so spanish speakers can have the chance to participate in this "internet revolution", and with some things that I wanna change, for example the structure of the forum.

This sounds like an awesome idea, though I do have one question. Will this other version of the PogoTribe be able to somehow keep in contact with this current version? If so, how? After all, the PogoTribe is one big community.

how about you start working on Spanish sub-titles for DBs videos? That would be a good start

After all, the PogoTribe is one big community. That would be great but that also depends on the SPOTM admins so I can't really answer that. how about you start working on Spanish sub-titles for DBs videos? That would be a good start In fact thats the first thing I thought of. PS: Sorry if my english is bad.

I don't see why we couldn't "keep it contact"? It'd just be a sister site. I'll bring up the idea of a non-English subforum in the admin call on Sunday, though. boris: Your English is fine... if you wouldn't have said anything, it never would have crossed my mind that English isn't your first language.

I don't see why we couldn't "keep it contact"? It'd just be a sister site. Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking. But that still begs the question, how. It seems simple on the surface, but is it really? I suppose since there are a lot of bi-lingual people out there, the head admins on the non-English / Spanish forum could be bi-lingual... that would certainly be helpful...

Hmm. We'll just have to wait and see. I'm sure we can figure something out when the time comes.
