I do know people who will swear on their lives they believe it, and follow it. Dan Brown!

Nobody here (as far as I know) truly worships FSM (though they'll probably respond saying they do for the sake of the joke lol). That's exactly the response I would expect from a nonbeliever. Typical. =/ But yeah, back to the point, I hope you don't get offended by Dan. His opinion should in no way affect your beliefs. You are a Christian. Dan is a pirate-dressing pastafarian. I could go for some ramen right now...

In case anyone hasn't caught on by my other posts, I have been shown sufficiently that Dan's whole thing was not so much a joke, but not real either. Thanks to everyone for helping me get that cleared up.

the difference with other (let's call them real) religions, is that this one was started as a joke.

I have just one thing to say: Dan is a bad actor. Apparently not, considering the amount of people who took him seriously.

I have just one thing to say: Dan is a bad actor. Apparently not, considering the amount of people who took him seriously. Yeah, really. I completely believed him at first! Of course, that could easily just be me. I guess you could call me gullible, but to be honest I think it's just that I'm too trusting of other people that they are being honest with me, particularly with people like Dan who I've been following for ages. That's why it's kind of a disappointment that he made it all up, but at the same time, I'm also very happy about that. Plus, his reasons for the video (the reasons that I believe are true anyway) were very good ones. I won't explain what I think they are here because I already explained that in the main discussion thread.

Until the first utterance of "Flying Spaghetti Monster", I was quite worried. Then, once I found out that Sarah Palin is the embodiment of the FSM, I was confused, but now that I've accepted her, I am filled with joy. Her followers are true Pastafarians - they just don't KNOW it yet. the difference with other (let's call them real) religions, is that this one was started as a joke. Oh ho? And you know this how? What makes you believe the others weren't jokes and that the FSM is a joke? How do you know that you don't have it backwards? yea, though I walk the valley of buckwheat, I fear no soba, for you are with me. Thy noodle and thy meatball, they comfort and fill me. Be gracious unto me, O FSM, for my pasta is dried; FSM, fill me, for my noodles harden and grow inedible. These passages remind us that in the end, we'll all find out what's true about the flying spaghetti monster, and if I'm wrong, then I've lost nothing. If you're wrong... Well, I suppose there are worse fates than eternity without pasta... Or are there? Time will tell.

oh don't get me wrong, I believe in the great FSM! I'm just saying, the other religions were created seriously, but turned out to be a joke, while this one was first conceived as a joke but later found to be nothing but truth.

If hes not joking than FSM take me now to the beer volcanoes and stripper factories in the sky. The FSM was a joke mocking Christianity and the guy who made it up said that if people are crazy enough to teach Christianity in schools than this could be taught as well. It was basically a protest against the Kansas school system if i can correct. I dont agree with that up there^ i mean, i am basically atheists and i dont care what Christians think. Just he better be kidding. I mean its a real fun thing to have fun with but not ot be serious about.

Why don't you wait until friday's video when Dan will probably clear all this up 0.0? ...where's the fun in that? Discussion is the whole point of the forum. I say we throw every crazy theory out there and whoever is closest to the truth gets a prize*. Plus, it'd be ridiculous to leave such a video without discussion. It practically begs to have all these topics made about it. *Prize is purely imaginary.

i mean, i am basically atheists and i dont care what Christians think. wow, that's really really ignorant I agree. It's this reason that people think all atheists are arrogant and rude.

wow, that's really really ignorant Rofl. It's not ignorant at all. I'm not a Christian and I could really care less what Christians think. If they happen to be the type who say I'll burn in hell forever, then good for them. If they happen to be the type who thinks dinosaurs and people lived together, then good for them. They're blatantly wrong on both accounts, but sometimes, I don't want to argue and I don't want to care. I'd prefer to think that nobody is that thick. I've had a revelation though. The only Christians who truly care what atheists think regarding religion (as that is the ONLY think that separates them), are the militant evangelicals. If you're not one of those, you really shouldn't care.

wow, that's really really ignorant Rofl. It's not ignorant at all. I could really care less what Christians think. No logic in your post. Not caring about whatever group of people think is ignorant.

Rofl. It's not ignorant at all. I could really care less what Christians think. No logic in your post. Not caring about whatever group of people think is ignorant. Quote miner. Read the rest of the post. Obviously guidance counselors once preached ignorance to entire classrooms. I remember when they told us "don't care what anyone else thinks about you because it doesn't matter". Applies in the same way here. It's not ignorance at all.
