I don't know what you mean, all I was saying was I don't know how old I would've been in second grade because we name our school years differently. For example you start school at 5 in year 1, then at 6 you move up to year 2 ect... Wow, talk about going off topic xx lol Oh, that explains alot. Grade in the US is the same as your year except that 1rst grade is actually year 2 because the first year of school is called Kindergarden. So by 2nd grade what I ment was year 3. On a side note our grades are only 1-8. After 8th grade it's High School Freshman, Softmore, Jr., and Senior. Collage repeats the same 4 names. I hit the wrong button... I ment to edit my last post and fix a typo and ended up quoteing myself.

I always found that really confusing - the good old britian we just carry on with the years right through primary and secondary school until you start A Levels. Then we sometimes refer to year 12 as sixth form x lol

Then we sometimes refer to year 12 as sixth form x lol Our years are confusing? - Young lady I did not understand a word you just said. I think typical American schools are elementary school (Kindergarden threw 5th grade) Middle school (6th - 8th grade) High School and collage. However there are no middle schools in my area. (that I'm aware of) so 6th - 8th grade either go to Jamestown Elementary or Connections Academy. Connections Academy is a performing arts school which is part of Summervile High School that I didn't know even exsisted till I started working with kids who go to school there. If I had known about it I would of demanded to go to school there even though my dad works as a custodian at Sonora High School. And no it never bothered me that I went to high school where my dad works, that actually made school allot easier because I already knew the campus and had access to the auditorium any time after school.
