I feel so left out because no one read my comment We're too busy imagining ridiculous world tours and continent wide gatherings with thousands of people to be reasonable.

I could have sworn I responded to you, Ricky. Anywho, I definitely think we should have more than one gathering. I was kind of thinking they should be at different times because that way Dan can (hypothetically) come to them all. Also, I was thinking this would be very informal, and we'd all just meet up at a public place, so it would be difficult to have computers set up so we're all connected... plus, if I'm with my fellow pogotribians, I won't be too interested in other people who are with their fellow pogotribians. We can talk to each other online any time we want... doing so while we're with other people irl seems a bit.. paradoxical?

What I remember from the old forum was that people go to big cities and find a good time to meet (so gatherings around the world could video chat or something and it'll be like a big gathering? Someone would have to go to find a good place with good free internet connection though.

Well, if this is going to work, people need to say what cities work for them!

I think all of it is a fantastic idea! I'd love to meet my fellow Pogotribians and I'm definitely willing to make the trip to do it!
As for the small-gatherings-connected-online idea I think it's fantastic and it's the BEST way to connect everyone....but....it is a little contradictory, I mean, I wanna meat up IRL and meeting up IRl to connect online together is kind of ..idk...contradictory? I really just think I'd be too focused talking with my fellow Pogotribians in My gathering to communicate to the others you know?
As for location, I'm in Oklahoma so I can really travel either direction but I think Lincoln is definitely a great idea, i mean, It's Dans town, it's in the center of the U.S. It's a sizable enough place to accommodate any number of Tribe members and frankly if we wanted Dan to show up, if we did it in his own town, he'd pretty much have too >_>

i believe that it is NEVER to early to think about starting gatherings. we have a good thing goin here...but think of all the possibilities and ideas that can flow and just great time that can be had. we need to break the boundaries of normal and really try to change that world...on crazy person at a time. so i say...lets gather people.

On the old moon we had a map with a pinpoint of where people lived, off of the places people put down on the wiki. Here's a link: maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&ll=35.164828,-97.668457&spn=3.403663,4.938354&z=8&msid=106423312260570449226.00047fe91fbb0f59302fb so we could figure out the more concentrated areas, or see who would actually GO first, then find the concentrated areas aout of those people?

Thank you Jelly! I thought we had one, but I didn't think anyone had actually used it.. I guess I was wrong... :\ We need to get EVERYONE to put themselves on the map. Right now, it looks like there are 8 people that could make it to a NYC gathering.. I feel like we should repost that map somewhere on the new site and try to get as many people as possible to add themselves...

I feel so... useful! Haha... yeah I think a lot of the people on this map are just people who stumbled on the wiki and decided to put their name in it (a lot of the usernames do not sound familiar) so I think we shoudl do a little cleanup, getting rid of the -retired- people and adding in the new people...

I was going to post it as a new thread, but I couldn't find how you add yourself.. Maybe there wasn't a button for it because I'm already on there? But I don't want to be like "everyone add yourself!" if I don't even know how xD

The person who started the map said you can change and edit the map only if you added her as a contact on google mail? I think... I'm not sure. And that was at the old forum, I don't know where she is on the new one?

I think this is an AWESOME idea!
Pretty much any city works for me. If this is happening in the future, I have no idea where I'll be living in the next 6 months but most likely either Providence, Chicago, or New Orleans. Those are all pretty large cities.

You push edit in the top of the left sidebar and then you should be able to edit it. no contact needed

There will be only one quirk with having a gathering. Where it will be, since the tribe spans around the globe there will be people who can never come to a gathering. I know that I, myself, won't be able to go to a gathering if it's in another country than Sweden, at least not as my situation is right now, and having several different gatherings around the globe will also be bothersome for a few reasons.
1. The amount of moonies in every country is extremely different, myself I know of 4 moonies here in Sweden and I haven't noticed any others on the forum from Sweden.
2. If I were to look at this from my point of view, I'd also say that most of the people I want to meet live on the other side of the planet.
Don't get me wrong here, I'm not against the idea of a gathering, quite the opposite, I'd love to go to a gathering of moonies, but there are always going to be people who will be left out because they can't travel to the area where the gathering will be.

I know but doesnt that happen with all gatherings? Hopefully when things really start to explode, somemore people from Sweden and other lonely areas will join.
