Right, so I'll propose the same thing as I did in the 2012 gathering-thread: How about doing a gathering in about 10-20 places around the world.. And you have to pick the places on how many people would go there, about 20 per place would be okay, so you would have to travel sometimes. And then connecting those places through a skype-meeting. Or anything that includes audio and video.. I don't know how much Skype lags.

I think 20 is too many... I was thinking maybe 3-4 within the U.S., and then more elsewhere in the world where we think they would work... Maybe 10 total would be okay. I still don't know if I like the video idea because 1.) it would be difficult to have them all at the same time, since they'd be happening all over the world, and 2.) If you're at a gathering, why would you want to talk to people online? That defeats the purpose.

Okay, well, about 3 in Europe would do as well, I just wasn't sure how far people would be willing to travel inside the US.. That makes 4 in the US, 3 in Europe (I was thinking UK (Leicester), Netherlands (Eindhoven) and Sweden..) and then a couple in for example Australia.
1) If we do this, everyone would be prepared to possibly having to stay up all night to be in time. 2) That's to make it a truly global gathering.. But that would be about 2 hours, and the rest of the gathering would be just having fun with each other.

Yokailo, I don't really think the Netherlands are central enough for a gathering. It'd be awesome for you, but not really for most other people (unless they live in some country 10 miles from yours, eh).

How about Germany as the center of Europe? No?
Also all this traveling.. carbon footprint.. why not do something else while we're at it to counter-act that? All these people together in one place, that's personpower. We could clean a park, or try and break some kind of world record for something, or contact some charity in the area and ask them if there's something we could do for them, like street collecting or clothes folding or food delivery or something.

^^ Good idea for future gatherings, though i think the first one should actually be just meeting each other in person. Having games, contests, and even shows performed by the members. It would be a great way to get to meet people. But it has to be in one central location where everyone can get to without trouble. Maybe we could do some sort of massive fundraiser in order to do an all expenses paid thing for those that live really far away?

mashuga brings up a good point. We'll surely have lots of gatherings in the future. We can start them off small, just meeting each other, and then in the future worry about making them big and connecting online.

It'd be awesome for you, but not really for most other people (unless they live in some country 10 miles from yours, eh). I don't mind travelling, but I took a look at the map and almost all the people in Europe live in the UK, Belgium - Netherlands - Germany or Scandinavia.. I wouldn't mind going to Germany or Belgium, but Eindhoven pretty much looked like the center. I would love to be able to go to the USA, but don't cross out the age of people.. My parents would never let me go to the US to some sort of gathering on my own, even if we did a fundraiser.

I haven't read all the posts yet but I in a pretty big city in England, so I could travel down to London or somthing, but I really don't have the capabilities of going to America just because thats where the masses are. Just saying.

I can't speak for all the gatherings in the world, but I will do what I can to help organise any in an area where I will be. For example, I currently live in British Colombia, and notice (on the map) that at least 5 other people do. Since I happen to have found a number of Vantubers (see my channel) we could combine the two and have a pretty cool gathering. If we all brought a few friends who might also be into the idea, we could even expand the local community for the tribe. In June I will be flying to Maine (I wanted to bus across the USA and couch surf, but it might be too expensive) and working there for a few months. Boston and NYC would therefore be open to me and a gathering there would be sweet. I will help organise this if needed, but would be less influential from my side of the continent. As for the other ones, people should stop complaining that one doesn't exist and create it themselves. In the UK I would suggest London, because there is more to do there and it is easy to get to by public transport. For Europe, maybe one around Scandinavia and one in Germany... Let's get this ball rolling!
