Summer's approaching, and I need money. I'm 16 and have zero work experience. All serious suggestions are welcome.

well, if you live in a rural community (like me) you could work the fields... I did that 3 years ago at the age of 15, so i'm sure you wouldn't have too much trouble getting job, pays better than fast food too... and if you can't work fields, you could probably get a job at a local McDonalds, they hire like crazy around here =P

You might have a REALLY hard time. I applied for 20 jobs of all sorts in the 757 area. 1 interview, no job xD. This is a recession, so you're going to need to be VERY persistent with your search. I hope you can find a job soon!

If you've got friends who already have jobs, definitely ask them if their employer is looking for new hires. It's an easy way to find a job, and a lot of places will tend to hire you if you already know someone who works there. If that doesn't work, Target is a great first job (assuming there's one where you live).

You could try learning photoshop, and then sell your work on some place like istockphoto. You can get something like $30 for a big piece for download. you will probably get 1/2 of you sales, and it depends how many graphics you can make per day, lets say 5, times downloads per day, 1 per piece if you're lucky, that comes out to a lot.

The key is persistence and likeability - make your hopeful employers LOVE you and want to have you on their team and you'll be gold.
