A Little History
The PogoTribe Newsletter (also known as Letters to Grover) began as a project to inform members of the PogoTribe of current events and projects when or if they were unable to get to the forum. To read more about its origins, you can look at the original Letters to Grover thread or you can read the first issue of the newsletter.
Between the first issue’s release, and today, the newsletter has suffered from some organizational issues, a general lack of communication, and a general lack of participation from volunteers. (I am not trying to put down anyone. I'm just telling it the way I saw it; I was partly responsible for this.) I’ve made this new thread as a reboot to the project, and hope that it can become more successful than it was before. In order to do this, I think that the majority of communication for the project should remain public and open. If you have any ideas you want to share, feel free to leave them here. (There will be a post dedicated to keeping track of new ideas and the like below.)
Submission Guidelines
Absolutely anyone can submit an article or advertisement to the newsletter! Just be sure that your article pertains to current events of the forum, and that no one else is covering the same topic. (To avoid duplicate topics, please post which topic you are covering in this thread. Topics, and the writers covering said topics, will be listed in the “current issue” post.)
Please note that you are expected to use proper grammar and spelling in your articles and advertisements. We will have editors to catch mistakes, but it’d be awesome if we could make their jobs that much easier! Thank you!
The minimum and maximum word count for any article is between 300 and 800 words.
The maximum word count for advertisements is 300 words.
Also, please take note: although you do not have to stick to a particular subject each week, if you plan on submitting articles to the newsletter “full time”, it would be incredibly helpful if you agree to cover the same category each week.
To submit an article to the newsletter, send an e-mail to pogopaper@gmail.com with the issue number you are submitting to, and the section of the forum you are covering in the subject line. Please be sure to give your article a title (a subtitle is optional). Also include your SPOTM username in the article and/or in the e-mail.
To submit an advertisement (for projects or events), send an e-mail to pogopaper.ads@gmail.com with the issue number you are submitting to, and the project or event you are advertising, in the subject line.
To subscribe to the newsletter, send an e-mail to letterstogrover@gmail.com with the subject line “Subscribe”
