Okay, so I always use google, but for the last day or so, it has been screwy. When I try to go to gmail, it brings up an error message. When I try to click on a search result, it brings up an ad. I use Firefox, I tried Chrome, and (I was desperate) I even tried IE. Nothing fixed the problem. I cant find anything because all my search sites do that. Help!

First the basics, scan your computer for viruses. It can't hurt.

a good fast way to check for viruses is to open task manager and see if you have any very very strange looking processes running (ya know, something like 12897437.exe or DoScan500PRO.exe or adware.exe something that doesn't seem like a windows process) if you end the processes and it works then you have a virus (also if you cannot open your task manager you have a really bad virus)

Yea, I used a virus checker and got none, so I have no Idea what to do. I might go to a computer forum and ask, hopefully they help noobs.

Use Spybot Search & Destroy to scan for spyware/malware/adware. Be sure to fully update it before you scan.

A computer forum would probably be the best option. That's what I would do if I were in your situation. Or try www.computerhope.com although I'm not sure if that has the information you're looking for.
