I hated basically every female I went to high school with. Good luck with that.

I said "basically." There were rare exceptions. I had one female friend in high school and the rest were guy friends. I have many more female friends now. People tend to get over themselves as they get older. I only dated one guy in high school and he was an asshole as a boyfriend, but he is a good friend. Lots of friend material in high school, next to zero dating material. My high school friends agree. Questions answered? PS Location: Pennsylvania High school isn't WILDLY different depending on where you live. Size is a bit of a factor. Everyone I go to college with went to different high schools. Everyone has similar experiences, even in Hong Kong. size is a factor, and I'm going to a small private school. One of my friends is going to an all boys school, now that would suck. And high school also depends on your personality and who you hang out with.

I hate how everyone is like "high school sucks"
Maybe it did for you, but I'm going to do everything I can to make it the best 4 years of my life.

Jesus Christ! I never said OMG HIGH SCHOOL SUX!!
I didn't date in high school. NOT A BIG DEAL! Dating isn't the only aspect of high school. If you're going to define your high school career by the girls you date or how many girls you date, it will suck, no questions asked.
Graduate high school and get back to me.

Nothing wrong with that. I didn't really like it much, but nothing wrong with that. And lol, my public school has 750 kids per grade.

If you're going to define your high school career by the girls you date or how many girls you date, it will suck, no questions asked. Graduate high school and get back to me. quick side note: we aren't alowed to say Jesus Christ at school, so we started saying cheesyrice. We couldn't say that so we said c.r. And the teachers still don't know what it means. Okay now back on topic okay, I never said once that I would do that. In fact my older brother had one girlfriend since sophmore year and they are dating still(just graduated) so I know that dating isn't everything, but I also know that you can do it for real.and I'm not going to define my high school life based on that. Yes I would like a date to a dance just to have fun, but I don't really care. I'll find a girl someday, and it could be in highschool. Highschool is supposed to be something where you are getting ready to choose your life path and get on it. But my life path is going to be fun, have no regrets. All my friends are already getting into fights and relationship problems, and they're not in high school yet. Me and my best friend laugh at them all, because we don't see the point. You go through hs and you feel miserable because you let yourself. There isn't a reason not to have fun and get through life. Drama has years ahead of me to play out. Let me have fun while I'm a kid.

Seriously though, if you go into high school expecting it will be the best four years of your life, you're in for a major reality check.
Or a horrible life, if you end up being correct.

I'm looking forward to high school musical theater and drama. Marching band, a big concert band, and a jazz band that actually plays jazz (as opposed to Soul Man and Smoke on the Water). Maybe I'll start a band, too. That's all high schoo-
Wait, why are we talking about this?

And I'm not listening anymore. Talk to me in one year and I will say if freshman year sucked or not.

Talk to me in one year and I will say if freshman year sucked or not. No one said it would be the worst. Heck, it's not even that bad (at least for me). But the popular "best four years of your life" saying is bull.

Jazz band is something I want to get into badly(tenor sax ftw) and the best thing of all? This year is our bands trip year, and we go to Chicago for a week and play in a competition(concert band because it's in the spring) and go sightsee! I can't frigging wait! And I'm in the freshman choir, and I'm taking web design for a semester. And our school is (hopefully) doing an awesome musical I can try out for. And (hopefully) I can try out for the soccer team. Now you can see why I think high school will be fun.

Jazz Band is always great.

Haha nice!
Marching band for us is a mix. Opener is phantom of the opera theme then it's sunrise sunset from fiddler on the roof and closer is defying gravity from wicked, but the glee version.

Don't get me wrong, Marching Band is, has, and always will be the best and most amazing part of my high school experience, but it wears you out. Practice 5 hours a day 3-4 days a week, and a competition every Saturday? Good luck I'm not discouraging you from it, it's just that you have to realize that a lot of people get tired of band REALLY quickly just because of the long hours and the tiredness of it. But I can guarantee you that band will be one of the high points of your high school career. There isn't anything quite like 4 hour bus rides with some of the best friends you'll ever meet, just having the time of your lives, then getting to the competition and playing your heart out P.S. Trumpet / Euphonium FTW! P.P.S. Our show is called "Geographically speaking". It's a mix of music from around the world. 1st: "Jai Ho" (Slum Dog Millionaire) and "Incantation" (From Quidam) 2nd: Variations on a Korean Theme 3rd: A marching band-specific and awesome rendition of various American Themes.
