HEY!
In my "Re:Re: An Open Letter to Educators" video I announced a subtle change in the Pogobat video format-- namely that we'll be revisiting almost every topic brought up. The response to this change has been AWESOME! So awesome, in fact, that it's becoming difficult for me, personally, to watch every video response, read every comment/tweet/blog post/MOON post, etc. that Pogobat's videos have been getting. This is a GREAT thing, but it means...
I NEED YOUR HELP PLZZ! :D
Anyone who posts any video ever does so because they seek some form of validation. People who post crazy, attention-getting videos seek validation of their existence, people who post funny videos seek validation of their sense of humor, and people who post video responses to Pogobat's videos seek validation of their ideas.
Now, most who respond to my videos are hoping for a response directly from me. When I can respond I do respond, but there literally isn't enough time in the day to get to everyone. The best kept secret on YouTube, however, is that communities can provide an EVEN BETTER sense of validation than any one person said communities are based around.
If you've followed this so far you probably know what's coming :D
I'd like all members of THE MOON to take on a sense of accountability for making sure everyone who posts a video response feels as though they've been validated. This doesn't necessarily mean agreeing with every video response you watch, but if you would make a point of watching a few responses, carefully considering what's being said, and posting a thoughtful comment (or video response! :P) YOU, personally, can mean the world to someone.
So if you're down, let me spell out what you can do RIGHT NOW to strengthen the tribe :D
-Watch at least 3 video responses that have been posted to my "Dreams" video.
-Post thoughtful, honest comments on each one. It also wouldn't hurt to sign your comments with "-[your username] from SPOTM!"
-If you're feeling particularly awesome, pick one of your favorite responses and post a response to their response! It doesn't have to be anything too fancy-- a 30 second blurb would work just fine.
-Do this for every (or at least most-- I don't want you to feel as though this is being shoved down your throats) serious video posted on Pogobat.
If we can make a habit of doing this, you'll be AMAZED at how crazily the PogoTribe grows. Never lose sight of the fact that we're on to something totally awesome here. Everything you do changes the world a little bit. DFTBA!
