Because I'm a super nerd, my friends and I still play the Pokemon TCG. I figured I'd start a thread on it, mainly because A) I didn't see one, B) I'm interested in knowing who else plays and C) I'm really interested to know what deck types people use.
I guess I'll start by saying what deck types I use.
I primarily have been using a Shuppet Donk Deck, because in my local league, there aren't a lot of techs to beat it, but I've been using the new Jumpluff tech more and more, mainly because it is a lot more fun to play with.

I have a feeling that's the way it is with a lot of people. It's a shame, because although the video games are good, I find the TCG to be much more fun. I feel it takes a lot more strategy (seeing as it has a meta game), and beating an opponents deck is much more satisfying.

I never knew how to play that game. I just traded the cards. I ended up having all the original cards. All 150, plus some darks... They got STOLEN. fml

TCG requires another living person to play. I can't just stay at home with my gameboy.

Someone please tell me that I wasn't the only kid who had no idea how to play the card game and tried to play by the same rules as the ones in the video games.

TCG requires another living person to play. I can't just stay at home with my gameboy. While this may be true, it is tons of fun to gather a bunch of people together, play the TCG, battle and trade on the video games, and have Pokewalker meetups. I recently set one up in my small town, and you'd be surprised how many people play all three!

I used to play it a bit on my boarding school but switched back to Magic TCG very fast. I guess I have my cards somewhere, though I would much rather play magic which Pokemon was based on. The rules that is.

I tried it once, but found it rather boring. I do play Magiic The Gathering from time to time with my nerd friends.

People still play that?
I gave all my cards away. That was money well wasted...

I never understood how to play the TCG the right way and neither did any of the people I played with, so we made up our own rules for the most part. It didn't work out too well..... But I still have 99% of my old cards
