The last book I picked up and read by my own choice was Choke by Chuck Palahnuick. Not quite as powerful as Fight Club, but there are a few quotations that I pull from it from time to time.

vectrolyte "Brave New World" I've read it and really liked it. Very good. I love dystopian literature, actually my favourite book is Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell. About authors, my all-time favourites are Edgar Allan Poe and a couple of portuguese authors: José Saramago and Fernando Pessoa.

I just recently read the book that inspired the makers of the Rambo movie, and Ive got to say that the book is probably one of the best in the genre. First off its nothing like the movie, the only similarities are that theres a dude named Rambo that returned as a broken vietnam vet. and he walks into a town, and thats pretty much where the similarities end. It really kept me on my toes all the way through the book, and after alot of twists and turns I ended up beeing really amazed by it. Its definetly not the best book Ive ever read, but its up there somewhere among the top 30! Id definetly recomend it to those who have seen the movie and didnt like it

anything by Chuck Palahniuk is amazing, fightclub still remains my favorite of his though. I've read Survivor, Invisible Monsters, Fightclub, Choke, Rant, and Lullaby. All were great

I've been meaning to buy a Brave New World for a while now, still need to take a trip to the bookstore. I also enjoy dystopian books, my favorites so far would be 1984 and The Giver. The Time Traveler was brilliant and I also enjoyed the Bad Girl by a Latin author.

I like the classics. And then when my nerdy side takes over I read books about the Lore of WoW, most recently "Arthas: Rise of the Lich King" by Christie Golden ;D.

I loved all the stuff like 1984, Fahrenheit 451, etc. I really need to re-read them. I also really dig a lot of Shakespeare's stuff, I ended up reading Hamlet three times in high school when we were covering it. A lot of people complained about it saying they didn't like it, but I loved it.
As for modern stuff, I really enjoyed Fear Nothing and its sequel Seize The Night by Dean Koontz, which are sort of action adventure books following the main character, Christopher Snow, and here's the catch, he has XP (Xeroderma Pigmentosum) which is a skin disease making him unable to go into light at all, since his skin can't repair its own cells. He's lived his entire life by darkness. It's a really interesting book.
