If you haven't heard of it... www.postsecret.com/ PostSecret is an ongoing community art projectcreated by Frank Warren, where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a postcard. Some secrets are share on the PostSecret website every Sunday, or used for PostSecret's books or museum exhibits.- What do you think of it?
- How long have you been reading?
- What's your favorite postcard/secret?
- Do you own and of the books?
- Have you found a secret in one of the books?
Personally I think that Postsecret is amazing. It has a great community formed around it, kind of like this one, but tighter (If I can say that?). It's crazy that TONS of poeple from around the globe send their deepest secrets to some strange man. There's even a PostSecret in French and another in German. There's a ton of people that have had their life saved by this project, and loads of people that have even just had their life changed. I guess PS makes you realize that you aren't the only one with these secrets. Some of them are hilarious, some inspiring, and some depressing. I just love waiting up until 1AM on Saturday nights or getting up and logging on to check this week's secrets.

I hadn't heard of it yet, but just this is enough to make me love it: This secret from last week sparked a movement In seven days over 50,000 59,000 of you joined an online community offering encouragement and help. This hopeful story has received international press coverage including this first report on Time Magazine's NewFeed. I haven't heard from the person who mailed this postcard, but I have heard from many others who have felt lifted by this world-wide spontaneous act of kindness.

I hadn't heard of it yet, but just this is enough to make me love it: There's actually a lot of stuff that goes on like that in their community. I still post around on the forums sometimes, it's so nice; but a lot of the time it's more depressing. do they have, like, an archive with them all? As for the Archive... If you go to their fourms you don't really need an archive, because they have a thread that you can read through of secrets on different topics, here's one that talks about 'secrets that make you smile'.. For uh, 63 pages!

I absolutely love PostSecret!!! I've checked it every Sunday for several years now. All the secrets I can relate to, find really funny, or incredibly inspiring I save to my iPod touch. It's fun to review them whenever I'm in a not so great mood. I actually got to go to a PostSecret event in Rhode Island a couple years ago. And I met Frank, the founder of the website!!! I didn't have any of the PostSecret books at that time, but I did have Frank sign a little moleskin book that I write my film ideas into. My friend got a hug from him. It was one of the most inspiring nights of my life.

I've checked it out, I didn't really get what was going on... The secrets are cool, but how do people get them on the website and what happens afterwards with the letter? Do they have a conversation?
Also many of the posts are about depression and suicide, it was nice to know that people's lives were saved, but I still don't really get it.

I love the PostSecret books! One of my college room mates last year had a couple of the books. My college also has 2 days a year where people can write down their secret on a sheet of paper and decorate it, then put it in a box, and the next day the secrets are posted in the main hallway.

I left one my secrets in a book. I plan to send one when I graduate and another when I start school this coming year. Postsecret is one of the most beautiful and amazing places on the internet and I hope it lives on forever, passed to Frank's kids, like a family heirloom.

The secrets are cool, but how do people get them on the website and what happens afterwards with the letter? Do they have a conversation? ... but I still don't really get it. Well, to get a secret on the site, this is something that is given out a lot at conferences, It includes the address and all. But really all you do is Create your 4-by-6-inch postcards out of any mailable material and post it to: Postsecret 13345 Copper Ridge Rd Germantown, Maryland 20874 Frank, the creator of the project then gets his (unusually abundant) mail like any other person and sorts through it. By Sunday he has about 25 secrets scanned into his computer and then he posts them onto his site. As for conversations, There is a forum which is open to people for discussing of that week's secrets (if that's what you mean). Sometimes if the secret has sparked a lot of conversation the person who wrote it might come forward to Frank and Email him, sending him back story about it, or really any message they have to him or the community. And, you don't really have to get it. It's an art project sparked from some man's lucid dream. Art isn't always meant to be understood.
