I think you get more stars as you get more posts.

Hopefully over the Posts, maybe the time you are on here and the activity...? I'm not sure, I'm new to the whole forums thing. And I also feel like a n00bt4rd, so you aren't alone there.

Yeah, it's the difference between a new member, and a full member (or something like that). The full members start with an extra 100 posts. I believe the admins were going to do this to most people, the realized that they have to do that to each person individually. 5 stars = admin.

Hey, why am I not a "full member"? I've been here since...well, almost since the (old) forum started, you know... that's just unfair.

People with up to 100 posts have 1 star (new member), people with 100+ have 2 stars (full member). Those are the only ranks we have (automatically set up).
We were going to try by increasing it manually to use it to indicate how long you've been here and how much you've contributed and such rather than just post count, to try and make the post count obsolete but it has been difficult.
I think in the near future the feature will most likely be removed and you should not use it to judge anyone's dedication or contribution to the community and therefore not worry about your own "rating".

Yus, I have 160 actual posts, but 100 got added in the beginning when the admins were still adding 100 to the active members from the old forums, but they gave up on that, because there are so many people. ^_^ Don't worry, you'll reach 100 in no time. I reached it in about 2 days! ^_^

It's not about how many posts or stars you have: we could care less. Your ideas and willingness to contribute are all that matter.

See, like all of your posts could be that, which isn't very helpful, but you'd get a high post count... *coughfionaisguiltyofthiscough*

I agree, it is the participation in the community not the ammount of posts

One post that is a brilliant idea is better than hundreds of pointless ones.

I kind of wish there would be some way to know if what we are doing is correct. It might be that I think my posts are ok, but in actuality I'm being rude to others, or spamming, and I have no idea.
