Okay, I've been into making Youtube videos for a while, but something has put me on hiatus...
My video camera.
Right now, I own a Canon PowerShot A250, one of the (previous) leaders in 'affordable' point-and-shoot digital cameras. Problem is, this camera is NOT made for video. It only records in 640x480, it only records in 25FPS, and the built in microphone creates so much background noise that all you hear is a huge buzz.
To see for yourself, just check one of my recent blogs (Youtube channel in my sig).
What I need is a video camera that won't cost me over $500 but still has acceptable audio/video quality. I don't want a professional recording set, just something that I can rely on to not ruin my videos with noise and bad video noise.
I've looked on Best Buy, but their camcorders are either extremely cheap and worthless in the $100-$500 range, or extremely amazing in the $1000-$4000 range...
So, Moon, got any suggestions?
P.S. I have an external recording mic, but it is a USB mic, so I would have to sync the video and audio separately. It takes too much time and it causes the video to sound and look "fake" if I don't get it absolutely perfect.
Also, I've heard Dan speak of how his camera has a remote. I think this would be an awesome addition to the camera, but it isn't necessary.

The only problem I have with a Flip is that you can't see the screen while recording yourself. Other than that, they're amazing cameras.
