A few months ago, I came across the idea of "lucid dreaming", which Dan mentioned in his Dreams video last week. Trying to learn how to do this, I was referenced to a website which serves 3 purposes. 1) The website provides a guideline on a proven method to teach people how to train themselves to lucid dream. 2) The website allows people to record their dreams in an online dream journal. 3) The website allows the people who are registered to share their dreams and discus them, as well as whatever the hell they want, in their own forums. This sounds like exactly what was mentioned in the Re: Re: Dreams! video; except it's already made. If we got the support of the tribe here and shifted activity over to that site, it would provide us with a great community to share our dream experiences, a great place for information on lucid dreaming (and dreaming in general), and a great dream journal log. Website is: lucidipedia.comJust an idea. Post your thoughts, questions, concerns, the like. P.S. I trained myself to lucid dream, i finally got it, and it was AWEEEESOMEEEEE. just sayin.

Because I prefer the act of physically writing to typing, I have a handwritten dream journal that I've been penciling in since January 27th of 2009. I've become better at remembering my dreams as a result of this, and I now recognize after I've woken up what could have influenced those dreams For instance: A friend and I played through Heavy Rain on PS3 a few days ago and my dreams the past few nights have involved pouring rain in some aspect as a result.
I've never had a lucid dream...not yet, at least. I'm more of the type who will wake up from a dream, write it down, and then choose to analyze it: I'm a believer in that imagery found in dreams can bring insight about oneself and help bring one closer to inner peace, or perhaps enlightenment.
I think this has something to do where often times I'll have a strange dream, and then a few months to a year later I'll be walking around in the daytime and find myself in a place where, while I may never have physically been in a place or experienced what was happening before, Some part of my brain recalls the instance happening before.
Perhaps I'm not making any sense...It's confusing to me as well in some respects. But that's just how I've come to understand dreams.

This sounds pretty interesting, and I've been fascinated with dreams ever since my Highscool chem class, where the whole class basically distracted my teacher for an entire period, and all we did was talk about dreams. Interpreting them, what they are, how they affect us, etc.
It may be hard for me, seeing as how I'm already completely out of it in the morning in addition to hastily getting ready for class. But I will definitely think of a way, and try my best!
On the same, but different note I had a really strange one last night. I was part of some army squad, or something along those lines, and our squad was given the task of spying on, infiltrating, and backstabbing the enemy. And for those TF/TF2 fans, yes I play the Spy class quite often. (GENTLEMEN?) Now this in and of itself may have just been influenced from TF2, but the weird thing was, that A. I haven't played in at least a month, B. We all had scissors, instead of the butterfly knife the spy wields, C. My friend IRL Sam was there, and D. I had those safety scissors you get in elementary. After this I get a little hazy on details... But Sam was having an easy time, and I found my time was quite difficult using only those scissors. And I never remember how I got to an enemy. I only realized I was behind them, ready to strike.
Just a little insight into my mind, I suppose. Very odd, indeed.

Hey, this is kwalkytv, the maker of the dream journal video. I would like to post an other video on my channel elaborating on the dream journal idea. I took a quick look at the website mentioned above and it looks very interesting. I think it would still be fun to have a Youtube channel just for the Pogotribe and other members of the Youtube community, if people were into it.

This website is definitely a great resources though.

I used to be able to lucid dream when I was younger, but now I've completely lost the skill! Thanks for linking me to the website, I might start a journal and see if I can get back to it.

I actually still have Lucid dreams frequently, almost always if I wake up from a GOOD dream (such an odd concept, that one dream can be better than another..hmmm..) I can latch onto what was happening in that dream and..continue it..
Actually I write a LOT, mostly fiction stuff, little sci-fi, but almost all of my stories were originally a dream, or at least an aspect of a dream.

Public Dream Journals are already very well applied ideas, and there are several places which have them (for example, beyond lucidipedia, there is also DreamViews, which has a Dream Journal section). So I have a somewhat different idea, but first, I'm going to say how I came into it: I notice, at least with my own dreams, that they are absolutely filled with amazing plots and action everywhere. I call some of my dreams the "The Friday Night Special Action Dreams". This is just to say that some dreams are amazing and have wonderful stories everybody should know. So, here is the idea: Each person who wants to make their dream journal public in the SPoTM should post it as a script for a theater. Then a voluntary team would make a YouTube video with the audience's favorite dreams. With the use of green screens and cheap effects (for example, see detonationfilms.com), even the most complicated dreams would make fantastic films. Basically this is a ripoff and merge of dream journals and the DJTBAPWFBA channel! (to mods, if I don't remember, please fix the link when the old forum is archived, thank you)The difference is that instead of having the person alone doing it, we would have an entire crew of voluntary actors (and with the magic of green screens, we wouldn't have to have all actors together, although it would be better). Now going to the wild and crazy side (which is unlikely to happen): Maybe we could talk with the DFTBA Records and try to expand their work to movies too, and we would be their first artist in the movies business! This doesn't make much sense, but it is an idea... So, what do you think?
