I'm not saying that one needs to work at a desk for them to have a real job. I'm saying that he's putting an awful lot of trust into YouTube for financial stablility. I know that YouTube is ran by Google, but it's only a matter of time before some new technology comes out and YouTube becomes old. Once something becomes old, it loses most of it's funding. Especially in today's world, people are always looking for the new thing. Dan won't be the "new thing" for too much longer and when that day comes, I'll be happily doing what I love and making a living doing it while he will be asking if people want fries with their meal. Dan took the risk to drop out of college for this project so he has obviously thought of the consequences. Yes, his project could go under, but you also have a risk of loosing the job you have and love from the economy and becoming a burger flipper at the local burger joint. Every person in America takes that risk. |

Pfft... it's not as revolutionary as I thought it would be. Dan isn't 'that' famous, and no matter what he does he most likely won't influence the rest of the world to do the same. I disagree. Would you agree that if YouTube saw this they might implement it to make a decision like… idk… Whether or not to use a new page layout that they are beta testing. (which I don’t think they are) and if Youtube did this, another company might say “hey! Lets do this too!” And then a larger cooperation and it just keeps spreading. Like Bree said a while ago. He isn’t planning on changing the world in the next year or maybe even the year after.. He is planning to show how successful this form of decision making is and to have other companies implement it to make them represent the people more. Couldn't have said it better myself. Oh I get it. You have all the time in the world to micro manage everything. Obviously you have time time to read through 500+ page health care bills. You have the time to discuss stock of companies and make a decision. This is why we elect/hire people do this for us. No. This wouldn’t be for complicated decisions like what stock of so and so to send to japan (that’s why they hired people who know about that sorta stuff) but more like. Maybe for Microsoft they could be choosing which features they would like to keep in Windows 7 and which need to be improved. I think that the people who buy their computers would be the ones to ask when it comes to what features it includes. It's a really cool idea, I think. It'll be fun making him do stuff and it'll be some sort of learning experience for him and maybe for us. But tbh, i am disappoint. I thought itd be much huger. like i said, less dan-centered. but oh well. I don’t see how it could be less Dan centered. He is the only one with enough followers and ambition to do it. And isn’t it really sorta centered around us? That’s my opinion. The point of the project isn't just so Dan can make money; it's an experiment that could possibly change a lot of things. Yes but in a way, he is hyping up the public to interact with him. He will then make videos which will be YouTube partnered. These videos will just make him even more wealthy. Yes but when he thought of the idea I bet the first thing that went through his head wasn’t “I’m gonna make soooo much money!” This just happens to be his job as well. |

Dmn I haven't had the time to carefully watch the videos and read everything. But from what I can understand: My head is not going to explode because of the excitement, but I'm not really angry or upset either. To be honest, I never was really super ultra excited. Of course, I really wanted to know what the super project was, but, like I said, my head was not going to explode because of the hype. I think it would have been a better idea to call it "secret experiment" inestead of "secret project", project sounds like something that would change the world, and will start to act right now or in the relatively near future and that is huge. I thought it wouldn't be so much about Dan. But I can see the potential for this. ...So my initial reaction was something like: OK, that's fine ... Let's see how it turns out  |

You nor I have the capacity to run a Microsoft program and I highly doubt they would give up their highly paid staff that performs so well. |

I thought it was an awesome presentation. After his explanation at VidCon, I watched his Dan 3.0 video and thought it was beautiful....
I'm hoping that he'll mix this in with an "EdTV" thing and have a live stream or even just a YouTube video for every thing that we tell him to do.

It'll either suck or it'll be cool. It depends on the veiwers, I'd say the pogotribe will handle it (mostly) in a mature way but if outsiders get in on this he'll just be taking his pants off and chasing little kids.

My first reaction to Dan's announcement was a slight disappointment since someone had figured his project out before VidCon. I can't remember who but it was somewhere in the pogopedia. He/She figured it from the trailer, and he/she also guessed that the thing will last for a year. It is a great idea though and I'm looking forward for all this but I wish that I wasn't "spoiled" so early. The first thought after hearing the actual project was: This sounds like The Sims but in real life! It's getting late on this side of the world so I'm confusing, sorry.

I thought it was gonna be something different. I had no idea what it was gonna be but I didn't think this would be it. I thought it was gonna be some big announcement event that would change something quickly but this would take time to make an impact. I'm really hoping that Dan makes this troll-proof. It might actually help the growth of the tribe, I believe he's trying to value the votes of the people that really care about him and that really grasp the huge entety that this whole project is! I cant imagine him opening his votes for any kind of troll because 4chan- for example, is too huge to outnumber even using the pogotribe, and they will probably try to mess this up with a smile. Perhaps by explaining this to goodhearted viewers, cheering upon them to join this community might be the best way to vote for the decisions of Dans life.
