This idea might sound over the top, but remember, one of our values is 'Think unreasonably big'. I think, when we're a lot bigger, we should make the Pogotribe official by making it into a real nonprofit organization. This would give us access to a lot of resources that we don't have now, like the ability to get grants or donations. It would also make us a lot more legitimate, in my opinion. This wouldn't be al all practical now, but after the secret project, I think it would be a good thing to do.

I agree to what you said, that after the "big secret project," it could be a great idea

Must... resist.... urge....... .... ...... ..... *takes deep breath* *pats back* It'll be okay. And seriously, once (if) we start to actually do things, this will be necessary.

It sure would help with the Munny Challenge part 2! How would being a non-profit organization help with your contest? I don't like the idea of "non-profit." Sure it paints a big friendly smile on the side of it but if there is no profit that's made there's no money to improve the corporation, and no money to keep the food on the table for all of us "the workers."

This is a great idea...But I foresee a problem. We'll never be able to agree on a common (concise, specific, and concrete) objective the way things are going.

There's this thing called sponsors... we would be funded by donations, of course.

Non, profit organizations still can pay their workers.

I mean, that's the whole point of non-profit organizations. We're not here to make money and we don't need any money. We're self-organizing. The only money that we might need is to keep the site up.

not true...we could potentially need funding when we start coming up with more ambitious projects

not true...we could potentially need funding when we start coming up with more ambitious projects This. I agree. Some projects, currently, cannot be completed, due to lack of funding...
