I like to think that most of us have advanced to the point where we take out our anger in a healthy form. For me its usually in the form of hitting the gym or running until I drop. However, on occasion, I get angry enough to write. In no way do I ever claim to be good. In fact, I highly doubt what I write can be really construed as poetry.
Either way, I wrote this a few weeks ago after watching a video on YouTube that actually advocated for Gay men to fit the stereotype. I got out my notepad and started writing. I got this long list and then just as I was finishing I was reminded of my favorite Heinlein quote.
I know generally this type of thing is very personal and usually not shared. In fact, its almost more useful to the person who wrote it when its not shared. But if you have any, please feel free.

We are not just hairdressers, fashionistas, interior designers, and comic relief.
We are business leaders, politicians, journalists, and investors.
We are authors, lawyers, geeks and musicians.
We are Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines.
We are teachers, government workers, pilots and activists.
We are doctors, nurses, police and firefighters.
We are sons, daughters, brothers and sisters.
We are Aunts, Uncles, Mothers and Fathers.
Simply put, we are you.
We have hopes, dreams, pains and pleasures.
We want a future that is free and prosperous.
No matter how much we are oppressed, ignored and mistreated, we will not cease to be.
We will always strive for better.
Those who do not believe in equal rights for all no longer understand the value of what they now take for granted.

“The value of a thing is always relative to a particular person, is completely personal and different in quantity for each living human.”
