Hi! I have Summer work. BOOOOOO. (before anyone says this, I AM NOT ASKING YOU TO DO MY HOMEWORK FOR ME) For one part of an assignment of mine, there's a list of influential people from before 1750 AD. For the assignment, I am required to do some papers on two people from the list and I also have to suggest another person to go on the list and state why in a one page essay. So, who should I pick? They have to have been alive before 1750 AD and they should be influential. Here's who is already on the list: Confucius Laozi Socrates Jaques-Benigne Bossuet Hernando Cortes Marco Polo Montezuma Shi Huangdi Niccolo Machiavelli Leonardo DaVinci Asoka Zheng He Siddharta Guatama Mohammad Livy Christopher Columbus Ibn Battuta Mansa Mansa Charlemagne Pericles King John I (England) Martin Luther Genghis Khan Kublai Khan Ferdinand Magellan Sun Tzu Saladin Suleiman the Magnificent I'll give you 9,001 points if you suggest two people from that list that are the most interesting, too. So, yeah. Who's an influential person from before 1750 AD that isn't on that list?

Socrates is fucking awesome. So is Buddha.
Someone not on the list? Well, Jesus was kinda influential IMO...

I'll give you 9,001 points if you suggest two people from that list that are the most interesting, too. 1. Confucius: He was the founder of the confucianism, who went on to be a major supporting stone in the social aspect of chinese society (how people should act towards eachother in their different relationships to eachother; master <-> servant, parent <-> child, friend <-> friend, and so on). It is influential in to this day. Won't spoil too much, but yeah. Him. 2. Hernando Cortéz: Because he and his conquistadores heavily influenced the development in South America in the 16th century. Wiped the Aztecs of the map and probably made South America into what it mostly is today, considering culture and so on. Elizabeth I of England I'm surprised she's not on that list.

Jesus seems to have a lot of wikiness: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_JesusYou have a Historical, nazareth, .. I always found Charlemagne pretty interesting since he kinda ruled the part of lands where I live now.. as for another person to add: Shakespeare, a religion-changing person like Luther; Calvin, Columbus ..

I've never heard of Thales, so it's likely I'll choose him.

Michelangelo? Raphael? Aristotle. Ya. I could suggest some Dutchies, but they're not really interesting to you, I suppose..
Oh, and off the list: Machiavelli and Da Vinci.

From the people of the list, The ones I like are:
Confucius who was very smart but I actually enjoy Lao Tzu's teachings better.
Moctezuma who is very interesting as he is the last Emperor and his life follows the invasion of the Spanish to the Americas and the defeat of the Aztecs
Christopher Columbus who is given the honor of the one who discovered the Americas although there is proof that others were here before him.
Genghis Khan who in his time lead one of the strongest forces and had the best technology for war which believe it or not in that time was only bow and arrows
but If I had to choose I would go for Socrates
One of the greatest philosophers who's work is relevant even now...

Jesus is mentioned once or twice by Josephus who is accepted as a credible period historian.
