May I suggest ALL leaving threads get an immediate lock or deletion or whatever happens to threads once rendered useless, because it is annoying.
Thanks.
If you don't consider this suggestion strongly, I will leave and definitely leave at least 2, and I repeat 2 threads, explaining why.

I've never liked leaving threads... but they don't hurt anyone, really. Just ignore it or report it if it contains anything against our guidelines or values.
But if, like, lots of people agree with this, it still could be implemented. But there'd have to be ridiculously strong support.
Also, might I suggest leaving ultimatums out of your suggestions? Your suggestion will be taken more seriously by forum-goers if you do so. ;P

I just don't like to be too serious, so I have to cancel serious with some humour, well borderline-humour.
Grow strong - Having a leaving thread indicates the person is seeking sympathy, or recognition, or something pathetic of the sort; He/she prevent us to grow strong by disconnecting and somewhat encouraging it by making a thread and pointing out why the forum isn't worthy of his/her time.
Use our awesomeness for good - Honestly having leaving threads is discouraging enthusiasm and whilst it is being 'awe'some, it is not for good.
So yah.

If I may intrude (which I will anyways), might I suggest either combining a "Goodbyes" forum with the "Introduccións!" forum or making it a sub-forum?
Another forum I'm on has them combined and it seems to flow pretty well. The idea would work.

If I may intrude (which I will anyways) That was a nice touch on the message, and yes you may intrude.

We discussed the idea of a sub-forum for leaving threads but rejected it as we do not want to encourage people to make them.

It's typically not encouraged. And instead of making a sub-forum, you should combine the two so it's "Introduccións and Goodbyes." I will guarantee you that the ratio of intro threads to leaving threads will be above 9:1. But I must pressure this question on you: Would you rather have members posting leaving threads randomly? Make it against the rules to do such a thing? Or have a section where members can freely do it?

Just because someone says they're leaving does not mean that we should lock or delete their posts.
Although I dislike these posts, I think we should rather create a sub-section of either the intro forum than remove/lock/ignore them.
Exactly...
