Hey pogotribe!
Since I feel I have a lot to say, and I don't want to sound like I'm ranting I decided to divide this introduction into (hopefully) easily digestible sections.
Who I am
For all intents and purposes you'll just know me as timo for the time being, I'm a 31 year old male from the Netherlands, I'm a Sagittarius and apparently also a Meteorite. At the start of this year I renewed my friendship with my then ex-girlfriend, and for a little over three weeks now we're back in an awesome relationship. I work as a programmer for a web-hosting company owned by my sister-in-law (that is, my brother's wife) that is mostly run by my brother and myself, but with a lot of involvement from my sister-in-law and her family. It's a small company that started out mostly as a hobby for my brother, but is steadily growing to the point where last month we finally took the big step of moving into an actual office building instead of working from my brother's home.
Why I'm here
As the subject line says I consider myself a relative newbie to SPOTM, and in fact to the pogotribe and all things Dan Brown in general. Although like most of you probably have, I've played Who Wants to be a Youtubillionaire, I never really took the time to watch the rest of the pogobat and danbrownuniverse channels until a few guest appearances on JPizzle1122 and apartmentred finally got me curious enough to check out the rest of Dan Brown's videos. Subsequently I went through an archive binge that used up most of my free time and ended just in time for me to witness the start of Dan 3.0. As during this time I stopped paying attention to my other subscriptions to YouTube channels and the many webcomics I read, I've been using the past week to catch up on that. Now that I'm finally out of new RSS feeds I decided to go ahead and join you people on the moon. Not knowing where to start once I got here as the IMPORTANT!!1!one1 forum has way too many topics, I just went to the Introduccións! forum, read the stickies and now I'm here introducing myself to you awesome people.
What I want
As Dan's videos were getting more specific about what's going on here, not only did I get interested in finding out more but I also came to the realization that a project idea of mine that never really got off the ground might have more of a chance of going somewhere if I tossed it at the South Pole of the Moon. I have a website named followyourdreams.nl that's meant to be about exactly what it says on the tin, but so far doesn't feature anything other than an ugly logo and an ironical "coming soon" message as a placeholder for content that's in fact not coming anytime soon. Much of this is to blame on the fact that I've never had a very clear cut idea of what I wanted this site to be, except that I've always had a wish of bringing together awesome people from all over the world who aren't afraid to follow their dreams in spite of better judgment. Some obvious flaws with my plan are that I don't have a measurable goal nor a reasonable time frame in which I foresee to achieve that, I'm mighty afraid that bringing together so many people has the potential to sometimes breed exactly the sort of drama that I'd like to get away from, and worst of all I think my idea sounds an awful lot like what Dan is already doing with the SPOTM right here except that he's probably doing it better. But in line with the spirit of this plan and in fact pogotribe value #4, I'm not going to let logic get in the way of thinking impossibly big.
What's next
As I don't feel in a hurry to jump right in I'll take my time to get to know you people, hopefully answer any questions you post here and checking out the cool ideas that the triads here are already working on. If nothing else, I'm guessing that at least the pogotribe is the closest thing to what I wanted out of followyourdreams.nl, and I hope to be able to be a valuable contributor to this community.
