"Brother from a mother with a last name of another color" is the song Dan and Hank wrote and performed together. I must say, it is quite epic. And not just because it was made by two awesome youtubers. The instrumental music was fantastic and the singing was quite good. I like Dan and Hank's voice together. They are both wonderful musicians. Well done Mr. Brown and Green.

Their voices made me want to tear my ears off and feed them to rabid squirrells as ruffage for winter hibernation

Yea...haha. jon Really? I know that they dont have perfect pitch, but the way their voices harmonized worked well with my ears. hm.

Uhm, no.
The song itself was really bad, their voices were not in sync. It seemed like they were rap battling each other as opposed to singing together. If I want to see two men duke it out I would turn on the WWE, or listen to old eminem battles.
Usually I like Hank's music. I think in this particular case it wasn't as good.
I also think that Dan was taking the song as a joke with all the shrieking and stuff at the end. It made the song seemed forced, it was not funny, and it was unnecessary. They could have sat down and come up with a better idea, but instead they produced this.
Now I am about to go off on a tangent. I know Dan 3.0 is supposed to be for fun, but this song had no deeper meaning to me. It was one of those just for fun deals, kind of like Dan's letter to the president. Instead of writing a letter about something he actually cared about, the letter seemed more for fun, as shown by his bad handwriting and bad picture. It seemed like a little kid wrote that letter. I am not saying everything he does needs to decrease world suck, but when the opportunity presents itself, perhaps he should take it.
Overall, the song was disappointing, but there is no way he could have pleased everyone, and for something that was recorded over a weekend with no prior practice, it is something that some people would listen to. However, it could have been SO much better

It was alright.
Jon, I don't think Dan needed to take this song seriously, as its just a song...
It seemed like they had fun making it, and it was catchy ;D

I like the way the sound waves vibrate off my eardrum, causing my bones to vibrate, hitting the cochlea, making the nerve cells send messages to my brain, which makes me like it. The way your brain works when you recieve those messages, it dosent like it. I have never and will never say a song is bad. I will say I dont like it, I may hate it, but somewhere out there will like it, and by saying its bad I indirectly say they have a bad taste in music, which isnt possible because everyone's brain is different, so I cant say which is good and which is not. I hate Justin Beiber's music. Clearly teenage girls dont. His music isnt bad, it just dosent appeal to me.

Jeez, It's only a song, it's all about opinion.
No need to start a flame war.

i think i liked it because they look like they had fun doing it. and sure its not a masterpiece that will go down in history, with the best vocals and lyrics ever, but it was kinda catchy and fun to listen to. and you have to admit it was good or at least ok for one or two days of making it. ... thats what i meant by awesome.

The Beatles song "Hey Bulldog" is not a very popular one, not their best work, but its one of my favorites. It was one of the last times they sat and recorded as friends. They sat down, had fun, and a song came from it. They were howling in the studio and it acctually got into the song. It was good because they had fun making it.

Exactly. Not all songs have to be the greatest, sometimes you just enjoy watching people having fun

Still, the lyrics in this felt rushed and forced. You could tell it was mostly Hank's style, so Dan's input was probably limited, and the above posters were right when they said it sounded more like a battle than anything. For the most part it wasn't too bad, but there were bits in there that made me cringe, and overall I can't say I found it terribly enjoyable at all.

I really liked the song. It was a cool, irreverent ska-punk effort. The way Dan sang made me think of a cross between Jello Biafra and Fred Schneider. A+ for some fun rhymes and a great meter.
