I like a huge variety (so kudos for allowing multiple votes), which mostly focuses around Indie, Electronic and Hip Hop. I also like a mix of pop and rock, as well as a large helping of Post Rock on the side.
At the end of the day, music is my poetry and the lyrics are more important than the sound if I am to enjoy a song more than a few times.

My favorite genres at this stage in my life are indie and electronic/dance. I also love to find amazing artists that aren't popular yet and listen to all their songs. A.k.a. Jay Brannan <3

sooo... I'm actually against all this "genre"-thing because you can't say that you only like specific genres, for example; I mostly like classic rock, indie rock, reggae and stuff like that, but I also like some music that most people would categorize as "pop" or "funk"

I saw a lot of music polls on the old site, but haven't seen any yet here, so I figured "why not be the first?". I Thought it might help up get to know each other better. Personally I like metal and classic rock, but that's just me... man i asked this first WTH -.-

Is "good music" a genre?

I personally grew up listening to ALL types of music. Give me Mozart and Beethoven, I'll be happy, put on pop songs and foreign operas, I'll sing along and dance, play some rock and I'll start jumping around doing all sorts of crazy things.
Right now I love the British rock band Muse. They're great. They create everything from classical music (exogenesis SYMPHONIES) to hard rock songs (Micro Cuts) all the while having great visuals and stage setups for their concerts. They have won over thirty awards, one of which the Best Act of The World 2010! they're just pure gold with instruments XD

Theres mathrock, and mathcore, hardcore jazz, my favorite band is a carabet band, swing (i guess), and punk. Really everything I listen to is some form of punk, they just don't sound a whole lot alike. Tera Melos, and The World Inferno Friendship Society have absolutely nothing in common really.

All of the above, but it depends on who's singing.
I just love music.
