There's a newish search engine called Ecosia, maybe you've heard of it. They are dedicated to help save the amazon rainforest. Ecosia donates 80% of their advertising revenue to a WWF rainforest protection program. Check em out, help save the rainforest just by using their search engine. =D

You might be interested in Goodsearch. It does the same sort of thing, only you can pick any of the many charities that have registered with them.

This is actually interesting, I think I'll try to use this instead of Google because I like the idea of not supporting a faceless corporation like Google.

Just a heads up, I dumped it within a few hours. The lack of image search is quite a deal breaker.

Well I'd at least use it for the regular text searches. It beats Yahoo, Ask and Bing because of the layout of the page -- which was the main reason I used google. But google has the best search engine, so I guess it's compromise...

But google has the best search engine, so I guess it's compromise... At least it links to google for image searches, but it's still one more site you need to go to. Also, Google is apparently investing in wind farms. Green, much?

Yea, google is still a great company, which is why they've grown so big. It'll just be a matter of time before they start boasting a more ecologically-minded company. But until then I'm using Ecosia.

sorry but google is developing a self driveing car... no other search engine on earth is even thinking of doing something so full of win... so whats better than google? nothing... googleblog.blogspot.com/2010/10/what-were-driving-at.htmlalso this thread is blasphemy and all who oppose the almighty google lords shall be struck down.. seriously though google may be faceless but who needs a face when you are so close to world domination.
