So halfthecarbs' student cooking thread made me wanna share loads of recipes, but most of them were too complicated or 'spensive for the topic. So I figured I'd make a new one! Share your favourite recipes, or ones you want to try; ones you've found online or in books or ones you've created yourself! I've bookmarked a load of recipes if stumbled on online that I've been meaning to try. Here are some of them: Cookie Cake PieBuffalo Chicken DipMeat CakeI've tried Pasta Pie. While stuffing the meat in the pasta did have its novelty for a little while, it got old fast! And my fingers got burnt fast too =\ I overcooked it a bit but it was pretty good. I think it could be awesome if done well... and with more cheese I also use this recipe for cake, which has turned out really well: Anyone else have any noms to share?

I've been making a lot of pocket pies lately. Besides the fact that they're portable, I like the fact that I can pretty much improvise on the filling. So far, I've tried two different fillings. One included some cubed chicken, green beans, Laughing Cow cheese, yogurt, minced mushrooms, and curry powder. The second filling (which I think tasted a lot better) was diced cauliflower and broccoli, cubed chicken, minced mushrooms, Laughing Cow cheese, yogurt, and chili powder. I'm going to try another filling that's a variant of your average chicken pot pie filling. It will include: peas and carrots, cubed chicken, and cream of mushroom soup. I'll see how it turns out either today or tomorrow. I wouldn't mind trying a spinach and mushroom filling, either... Ooh! I almost forgot! This is my very favorite cake recipe: Bruce Bogtrogger's Cake, straight from the Roald Dahl cook book! ("Roald Dahl's Revolting Recipes') Recipes I've been meaning to try are... Fennel, Onion and Sausage PizzaRed Onion, Potato, and Goat Cheese PizzaOne-Minute BreadI've also been meaning to try out some more veggie dishes. Does anyone have any recommendations? (Especially for spinach dishes?)

take 2 slices of bread. slice some cheese. stack them in the order: bread - cheese - bread.
there you go, 1 cheese sandwich.
that's pretty much the best i can do.

Ooh! I almost forgot! This is my very favorite cake recipe: Bruce Bogtrogger's Cake, straight from the Roald Dahl cook book! ("Roald Dahl's Revolting Recipes') I used to have that book when I was little! It was awesome! And then I lost it =( It had some awesome stuff though, like edible wallpaper and that crocodile cake that was in the picture of him on the back of all his books... *nostalgia* anyway.. Pocket pies are a great idea. They sound nommy, and so versatile! Maybe you could put spinnach in them? You could also make some sort of bitesize cheesey spinnach thing... maybe spinnach and ricotta ravioli?(sp?) Spinnach on pizza is usually pretty tasty too. I must make this! I saw that a while ago and I've yet to get around to it.. But I must have one.. eventually!

THIS is my favorite cupcake recipe. They're yummy without the frosting too, if you don't feel like coconut buttercream!

TNJ's super simple pasta sauce:
Take sour cream (about ½-1 dl is usually enough for 1 person) Add some seafood, I usually take shrimp or crayfish or something Spice it ut with pepper, dill and a little lemon juice
Stir it all together!
I usually eat this to pasta & broccoli. Yummy, quick and cheap. If you don't like seafood, take blue cheese and skip the dill & lemon.

I got around to making this the other day and it was amazing. Was a little too much cheese and a little too little chicken but that could be easily fixed. Was pretty tasty regardless! SquiggleTag: Dont worry we all do silly things. Except me. I'm perfect xD

Here's a decent breakfast/lunch recipe that I learned from my dad and then adjusted over the years. Takes about 15 minutes to make. What you need (for 1 person): - Bread (4 slices, maybe more if it's really small) - 1 tomato - 1 egg - olive oil (preferably extra virgin) - a quarter to half an onion (depending on taste) - salami/ham (you can leave this out if you're a vegetarian) - few slices of cheese (any kind will do) - spices (I use pepper, oregano and garlic powder) Cut up the tomato, onion and whatever meat (if any) you're using into tiny bits. Put some olive oil into a frying pan (tablespoon should suffice) and add the tomato and onion. When the oil starts to sizzle, crack open an egg and add it. Scramble the ingredients until the egg is mostly baked. At this point you might want to ease the burner a bit. Add whatever spices you desire and keep mixing it together. Throw in the salami/ham/whatever with the rest and keep stirring for about two minutes. Finally, add 3-4 slices of cheese and let it melt in the pan, binding everything together. That's it. Spread it over two slices of bread and then just slam two slices of bread on top of it. All natural, easy to make and good to eat. You can use low-fat cheese and meat if you so desire. I already use extra virgin olive oil because it's healthier.
