"Captain! We've lost power to shields!"
"Open the intercom."
"Sir!"
"Attention all crew, this is your captain speaking. The wolfani ship attacking us has us outgunned. With what time you have left, I recommend recording a message for your loved on--"
A massive crash rocked the ship then, interrupting his announcement.
"Captain, why are they toying with us? Why not kill us outright?"
"I don't know ensign. We know so little about these things."
The door to the bridge opened and the crew's chief of security entered, having caught the end of the conversation.
"I've heard of this before. They're raising their young."
"Raising their-- what do you mean by that? A training mission?"
"Not exactly..."
The wolfani ship fired another weapon that looked something like an electric bolt, interrupting the chief's explanation. As the bolt hit the ship, it spread like a shockwave through the entire vessel, and everything went black.

Please forgive me any odd errors in this post, I'm having to type it up on my phone.
RULES
The game will follow standard werewolf rules with the following changes and specifics:
1. Each living participant must post at least once in the game thread each game day. (It is not necessary to do so during the nights, though you are welcome to.) Failure to do so more than once may result in your elimination at my discretion. You are not required to vote. There will not be a no lynch option on the vote.
2. Dead participants may not post in the game thread or discuss the game with living participants. Dead participants may discuss the game with each other in any other way except that dead wolves must not reveal or hint at who the remaining wolves are. There is a reason for this.
Short version: No restrictions on communication except that the dead may not speak to the living, and in the case of wolves must keep their partners a secret.
I may not be able to provide a Skype room myself for the dead right away. If I can't I'll ask someone to do so for me.
3. There will be 22 spots in this game. I will also keep a reserve list of a few people to replace inactives who are modkilled. Inactives will get whatever role the modkilled player had. The roles are:
Werewolf (4): A wolfani youth disguised as a crew member. Each night, in pairs, they hunt and murder one of the ship's crew to prove themselves. They win if at at any point they outnumber the remaining crew not counting the shapeshifter.
Microbiologist: He/She's not a medical doctor Jim! Once each night in his lab s/he can examine a sample collected off a crewmember to determine if they're terran or wolfani.
Shapeshifter: The chief of security, totally not a star trek ripoff, is a Shapeshifter who, each night can hide him/herself in a crewmember's room to protect them from wolfani attack. Everybody knows who the shapeshifter is, and the shapeshifter cannot be killed by the werewolves.
Crew Member (16): Members of varying ranks and tasks among the crew, their task now is simply to survive.
4. Because of advances in science, if the dead are quickly enough brought to a hospital their brains can be restored to a new body. Therefore the dead will be considered to have won if the living remnants of their team won -- sink or swim together. This goes for both wolfani and terrans.
5. Personal Logs. At any time in the game a living crew member (or wolf) may record a 200 word or less personal log by sending it to me as a PM with "Personal Log" as the subject. Only the most recent one from each player will be kept, and it will be played back for the crew upon that person's death.
6. Be aware that events may happen throughout the story that could impact the game. Try to use these to your advantage.
PLEASE ONLY SIGN UP IF YOU ARE CONFIDENT THAT YOU CAN STICK WITH THIS OVER THE LONG HAUL. It's no fun for everyone else when the game gets ended early due to absentees.
