That's because it doesn't show the newest THREADS, but the latest posts.
e.g. I create a thread. It gets on top of the list. Then, if someone posts anywhere on the forum, that thread gets on top of the list.
A thread is only new when it gets created, but it gets new posts.
It's just a naming issue.

But "New Posts" is a different feature on ProBoards. It's called "New Threads" because it displays the results in Thread form, as opposed to post form (see link above). |

While Bree is correct, I do understand the confusion. "New Posts" is clearly not the best new name for "New Threads" though. Some other name might still be better than "New Threads" perhaps. Something to reflect that it's showing the most recently posted-in threads? I don't know.
