Dan stresses finding out what other people's talents are in his talk about the Triads. Even though the Triads are doing it for a specific purpose, shouldn't that be what we're all doing?
Becoming a Tribe means becoming a global community. We often forget that here in the forum. We forget we have a real world to face as soon as we sign off. We forget we have real talents and that there are real problems that we can fix. I've noticed that many of the projects here have no real purpose behind them besides doing something "cool" for the Tribe or for Youtube. Don't get me wrong, that's fine. It's important to have fun, be silly, and do cool things... but it's also important to tackle real world issues as well.
When we discover the talents of the entire Tribe, we can determine how best to face the problems of the world together, online and offline.
If you are willing to take the battle against world suck one step further and begin tackling real world problems, please respond to this thread with an explanation of your talents and a few problems of world suck that are close to your heart.
On March 30th, I will post a new thread that has a list of the issues closest to the Tribe and a list of our strengths (all according to you, of course). From there, we can come up with some super awesome projects! Who knows, you might even get to know your fellow Tribe members a little better.

To get it started... Hi, I'm Andromeda! My main talents lie in visual arts and teaching.
I'm pretty handy with a camera or paintbrush, but my best work is in assemblage sculpture (basically putting junk together with a purpose). Though I am no expert in any one topic, I am very good at researching a given subject and presenting it in way that it easy for any type of learner to understand.
Issues that are close to my heart include helping Haiti recover, ending poverty and world hunger, and taking steps to save our environment.

Hi! I'm Kirsten and I love to write and draw. I love mostly finger painting but enjoy sketching and whatnot. I also play a handy amount of musical pieces with mostly the clarinet but also the piano. I am more of an artistical person and wish to help anyone who needs it.
Although I don't check this site everyday, I hope very much to stay connected with everything this site is about in order to come up with more ideas so that I may help those who are in third world countries, so that they may acquire knowledge and grow to get out of poverty.

Hi, I'm Chrissy! Outside of school I like to draw, paint, and write. I can also play clarinet and piano pretty well (hey Kristen, maybe we could do a duet on Youtube or something).
I am interested in many different issues, including bringing aid to developing countries (long and short term), protecting the environment, helping animals, using the arts to help the community, improving education... the list goes on and on. My problem is that I don't have unlimited time (if only Time Turners were real...) and I have a hard time focusing in one project for a long time. I would definitely be interested in helping out with a real life project.

Thanks guys!
If you have a talent outside of the arts, list that too! If you're good at math, computers, cooking, running... if you're bilingual or if you're a good leader. Anything you're good at is a talent!

I agree that more projects should focus more on decreasing world suck, but sometimes those sorts of projects are just too cumbersome for our small community. We try when we can, but often when people propose those projects, they fail because we don't have the resources to fulfill them. I do have a project going on IRL that's working toward decreasing world suck, and I intend to ask the pogotribe for help at some point, but right now it's not done enough to present to the moon... So.. you'll have to wait until then to find out what issue is close to my heart Haha, sorry to be so secretive.. I don't want to reveal my project yet, but I wanted you to know that there is more going on for us then just projects to improve the moon.

I absolutely agree with you everything you say 100%. However, since our tribe is still in the process of development and we are only recently formed, not a whole lot can be done to decrease world suck immediately. I think the tiny little projects that don't have a whole lot of accomplishment except for establishing self-determination are vital at this point in time. If we can work our way up from small projects to BIG projects, we can ease our way into helping out the world. I believe there is a main reason why Dan has chosen to reveal his big project in the summer, and that is because he wants us to first develop as a tribe. If we jump right into helping his secret project without testing the waters of smaller projects, there is no possible way we can help out in the end. But that's just my take on things.
