Who else suspects that Dan rigged the results of the location situation?
It seemed pretty unanimous that Gay, WV had everyone's vote (just read the comments on all the people happy for San Francisco in comparison to those who voted for Gay).
But seriously...who wants to see ANOTHER show set in San Francisco? Who?!?! It's always the huge cities that make it to the top of these things, unlike somewhere interesting like Gay, WV. Like whenever I see a movie these days, it's always some big city like New York or San Francisco that it takes place, and I think to myself, "Man, not everything has to happen in famous cities!" Think about it, that would be extremely unique for Dan to become part of a small mom & pop community rather than same old San Francisco. That's the kind of thing that would give the show real uniqueness.
Dan probably looked at the situation and thought, "Hmm...do I really want to live in West Virginia? No, I'd rather go against the flow of D3P0 and choose to go to same old San Francisco. Instead of doing Eventful, I'll just do an invisible poll and if I don't like the results, I'll fix it."
Not to bring anymore unnecessary drama to this, but I am suspicious that this was fixed.

Wow, really? Dude, Gay was winning almost the whole time. Slowly but surely, as Dan's reputation recovered, San Francisco swung back. On the last day of voting, San Francisco finally took the 1% lead. Dan was fully ready to accept Gay, WV as his location. Things just turned around at the end. Here's a screenshot of the results for the poll the day of closing.

who wants to see ANOTHER show set in San Francisco? Who?!?! Not me. But Dan didn't "fix" the results. He did, however, obviously favor one city (San Francisco). He showed his desire for that to be Dan 3.0's "home base" in several videos and tweets. And of course, if Dan gives his input on anything, it's going to get votes just because Dan mentioned it (and Dan knows this, because 1. he's not stupid and 2. he talked about how he knew he had the power to sway the results of things in the Dan 3.0 FAQ video, and how he was going to stay away from that). So in a roundabout way, I feel like Dan did rig the results. But it is what it is. I'm going to move on and stop caring about it.

This is just absurd. He may have influenced the results by telling us his preferred city to live in, but it wasn't rigged. I'm glad he's getting to live in the city he wants to live in. I'm sure if Gay, WV had won the vote after maybe a month people would be complaining about how boring of place it is for D3P0.

But with the natural disappointment of the results and the unclear poll system, it seemed logical to think so. Anyway, I'm sure that San Francisco will be a fun place to be, but certainly not as unique and interesting as Gay.

Listen, do you really think that D3P0 could become successful if it is set in a city with a population of about 50 people? What about all of these tasks where he has to organize a big audience to participate, OR what about tasks like the free hugs sign. IT WOULDN'T WORK.. He needs to be situated in a large city.
Also, the reason most movies take place in large cities is because 80% of America lives in urban areas. Granted they aren't all in large cities but you know what I'm sayin.

Gay has 132 inhabitants. (lol)
I actually voted for SF, but any other big city would have been OK for ^those reasons.

I'm just sad he's leaving lincoln. Other than the fact Ive bitched about not meeting him when I could walk to his house, which I do alot, I think it was the perfect city. Its central to the US, so instead of flying cross country to go to NY for a task, its half of it. And Lincoln is big enough to do things like the free hugs, and small enough to not be a big city. He also knows where everything is, so he dosent have to search for a tall building, he knew it was the capital. And flights are cheap from Omaha, which is a bigger city an hour away. But mostly Im sad cuz Im never gonna meet him. FML

I'm somewhat surprised that Gay was even on the list. How did you choose the list, Rob? Just curious.
