I just now deleted my facebook account.
Facebook has always been an extreme and unnecessary source of drama in my world, and disabling it today seemed like the right thing to do. I find that the things that people do on facebook are ridiculous, so I no longer want facebook. I encourage you to do the same.

I was about to do that.
Then I realized that it's pointless.
BTW, disabling the account doesn't do much aside from stopping notifications. Your profile and everything's still there. (that's the pointless part)

^Really? How silly. There was a site for "virtual suicide", but now that's dead (it was called Seppukkoo). Maybe if you delete all your friends, make your privacy thingy all friends only and then delete it...

Your friends can't access it, but if you decide to log back in another day, everything's still there as if you had never left.

I like facebook. I'll be keeping my account. It's just not for everyone, straight up.

You CAN delete the account - it's just very hard to do
There's an article somewhere explaining it

It's not hard, but tricky.
You just click the super hidden link to delete the account and then wait 14 days without logging in.

I deleted my Facebook account a LONG time ago...
I am never going to use it again. It was consuming my life, and drawing me away from you guys.
