There are three open issues of debate here, and ill explain my point of view for each.
Is dan cool?
Personally i think dan "was" cool. It was his videos I admired. When D3P0 started i was mildly disappointed. He said it was going to be big and world changing. While its not a crime to be wrong, it does turn me off that he seems pretty damn conceited. The nosehair trimmer was a worldchanging idea, however when you have an idea that great its not cool to brag about how great it is. Especially if it turned out no one seemed to care if their nosehairs were apparent or not.
I've yet to watch an episode of delicious steak but i intend to once my computer stops being internet retarded. If its as insightful as everyone says it is, he may have regained some of my respect.
Should we follow him?
Straight up, no. We followed him through his tribal experiment and it failed. Not that it wasnt a good idea. personally i think if the whole of spotm had the integrity, we could be that world changing team he originally envisioned. However, as a leader he proved flaky, and itd be stupid to walk into the same pit twice.
Should he be the center of the community, or should he be a member of the community?
I'd much perfer the latter as a crazed fan of any sort, I am not as well as a fan club, I will never be a part of. If more of the moon decides they want to worship and praise him then its simply less of me. But maybe if he started participated in our random whacky convos and in the debates, I could gaurentee there'd be a lot more of me simply because it solidifys the concept that this is a community, something that everyone takes part in.
Well, thats my three cents (geddit?), go ahead and submitcho rebuttles sons!
