As you all are aware of there are 100+projects here on the moon. Sometimes with all of them it is hard to know witch project you see yourself getting behind. See all projects of a decent size require more than just one single member behind them. So even though projects look promising, they might get over looked by volunteers and well, die. With the project directory, we could start a COMPLETE list of all projects of this date and all projects in the future. For the directory to work each project must fill out some "general information." The Information will be: Name of project: Name of project founder: Short description of project goal: Volunteers needed(0 is a possible answer): Where we can find more information on your project: If this directory was set up in the Wiki (or sticky-ed to the top of the projects thread), and was designed like a spread sheet, I think it would improve the maximum life of ALL PogoTribe projects

This sounds like a pretty cool idea, but I see some minor flaws. It seems that if this directory were only on one page, it would get /really/ long. Also, how would the projects be sorted? How can we make it easier for people to find certain projects or even certain types of projects? Sorted alphabetically? By category? By popularity? All the same, this idea is cool, and if we could just come up with some ways to improve it/ make it more specific, it could be very beneficial to everyone here on the moon.

This sounds link a pretty cool idea. Also, I was think of making a website called pogoprojects, where there would be a directory of all the projects currently running. Also, you could sign your project up for a subdomain of pogoprojects to be a sort of 'site' for the project.

Tell me are you a member of another forum? No, why? I've been wandering around this forum for a while, reading posts and whatnot, and finally decided to actually join today. And Chaos, yes, that's actually very similar to the idea I was thinking of! Another mini website with all our projects linked/posted there.

Not sure, I think if we got a PogoProjects sites up, we could link to the other peoples individual projects.
I think if we were going to organize by Categories. Now what Categories should we have?

Well if this idea was followed through, it would be a very big change, because everyone already posts and discusses their project ideas here. Maybe this site (if it ends up being created) would only have the projects that gained a lot of popularity? I dunno. First, this idea itself would have to gain quite a bit of popularity before people with website-making skillz decide to help out. EDIT: Sorry, didn't see the post directly above this one before writing. x|

Perhaps the links on the site could link to the forum discussion threads? Or would that defeat the purpose of the separate site? Categories... hm, that depends on what projects are currently going on around here. I don't know that much, but from what I /have/ seen, there are projects on SPOTM site improvement, people getting to know each other better, vlogs/blogs...

Yeah, just having it link to the forum posts will pretty much defeat the purpose. Also, what do you think we should do about hosting and other technical stuff?

Well it doesn't have to necessarily be a .com site, or something like that, that you have to pay for. Eventually, it might get to that point, but for now, it could simply be on one of those "your own free website" hosting thingies. Like Freewebs or Wetpaint or whatever. Plus, if we use one of those to start, we won't have to worry too much about techy stuff as for building our website from scratch. And.. it's possible that I completely misinterpreted what you just asked, and if that is the case, I'm very sorry. x|

Maybe you should consider makeing that better instead? Heck no. This is soooooo much more than that. This isn't just a directory, it's also a place where you can get a subdomain for your project, and make a project 'website'.

Chaos, you did all that already? Wow. Does that mean a site is up, or...? I'm sorry, I'm not very familiar with all this stuff.
