I am in the process of making a Wikipedia page for the Pogotribe after discovering that we could not show our face on the moon. I'm not exactly sure how Wikipedia will deal with my creation of a new page, which is why I'm creating it first and uploading it later. So what does everyone want mentioned on our Wikipedia page? (please note that this is on Wikipedia.org, and not on the Pogopedia site)

I know :S well, anyway, another idea would be to a) create a Pogopedia sandbox (like " Sandbox/Pogotribe") for it or b) creating a Wikipedia sandbox (like " User:Frxstrem/Pogotribe") for it before creating the real article. (I'd personally prefer the last one, although they're both equally good.)

I'd say that's about the same thing as you talk about here ^^

Like Linus said: I'll be writing it before I upload it so before I upload it I am interested in what people on the tribe think is important for the rest of the world to know about us. We can discuss it here so we don't have to worry about making a Sandbox and if at a later time we decide we wish to update the wikipedia page further, we could do that at any time.

Well, I thought we should collaboratively create it and when it reach a certain standard, move it to the main namespace on Wikipedia.
But feel free to do it your way if you want to, I'm not gonna stop you.

The article deletion isn't just stupid, it's beyond stupid. I thought Wikipedia was about allowing people to find out about new things without censorship, but now I'm not so sure.

Guys, Wikipedia has serious, strict quality standards. The OP seems to understand that, fortunately. Wikipedia is not about allowing people to find out about new things without censorship, sorry. That'd just be ridiculous. It would be chaos (SEE WHAT I DID THAR?). In order to be taken seriously, they have to censor things that are not legitimate. If it was a stub with no context of any sort, the deletion was completely understandable and inevitable. I look forward to seeing the finished product though. It'd be cool to have a Wikipedia article.

Just for those of you who think the article deletion was stupid; you can read the reason why they deleted it on my wikipedia talk page, where they left a message for me.

Ok, so in the creation of this wiki page we will need notability. Good to know, ty Fred for posting that.

Well, seeing as there was nothing wrong with it, the deletion was pointless. And why do you seem to enjoy insulting me? There was obviously something wrong with it if Wikipedia deleted it. It did not meet its quality standards. You might want to read Wikipedia's guidelines and standards (and find out why this particular article was deleted, for that matter) before spreading libel about such a prodigious website.

I'm not spreading libel about anyone or anything. I just think that there was no GOOD reason for the deletion. The person who deleted it's excuse was that itm wasn't "noteable" enough, but in reality he probably just hadn't heard of it. He should've done some research about the Pogotribe and it's connection to Dan Brown before he deleted it. If Dan Brown is "noteable" enough to ahve a wikipedia page, and the Pogotribe is connected to him, then it should have it's own page, or at least a section in the Dan Brown page.

No, you misunderstood. There was a good reason for the deletion. It did not meet Wikipedia's quality standards. You are wrong. I just looked. The page was deleted because it, "did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia." You cannot possibly expect every Wikipedia administrator to "do the research" to find out why something should have a Wikipedia page. That is up to the creator of the page to do. -_- That would be the equivalent of of writing down a topic for your English teacher, and telling him/her to go do research. I mean, what? I'm going to say this once again: before you spread libel about such a prodigious site, get the facts. I'm beginning to think you are trolling... srsly.

Okay, now i'm really starting to feel like i'm not welcome here. Well, trolls aren't really welcome here. If you legitimately do not understand Wikipedia... fine, go do some research (or don't, but then you are not entitled to speak on the subject without backlash)... but if you are trolling I really don't want to waste my time replying.

Forget it then. This discussion was dragged out way to much. I guess it didn't fully explain what is was of why it was important.
