...but it was impossible to foretell how many people would sign up and how many people would have matches... How could we know how many people would sign up, how many would actually give enough info, and how many would get matches?

I think you guys did great on your triad. I think Dan is just trying to teach you guys what to do better for next time. Don't be disheartened by the fact that "you failed". Be invigorated by the fact that there is still room to grow as a triad!

How could we know how many people would sign up, how many would actually give enough info, and how many would get matches? There's no way to know. You were supposed to set a GOAL of how many you WANTED to sign up. ChelseaDan's wording was a little less then perfect when he discussed your triad's task, but that doesn't necessarily mean he didn't understand it. Besides, he did say he liked the actual project idea, you just need a measurable goal. Since that was part of the original objectives, we can't just ignore that you didn't set one.

You were supposed to set a GOAL of how many you WANTED to sign up. Well, if that was such an important thing, then why was I never told that when the Triad projects started?

Hey Dan. I hope you're reading this. I'm trying to stay as calm as I can right now. I'm trying very hard NOT to be a troll and not to insult you. Our goal as the Nerdy Norwericans Triad was not to gather information, it was to pair people up. Yes, I will admit, our goal was NOT specific enough, but it was impossible to foretell how many people would sign up and how many people would have matches. Exactly 50 people signed up and 45 people got matches. Now, I like to use parables and metaphors to get my point across. Let's say there are two groups of three trying to do a project on Ancient Egypt. One does a project on mummies and another does one on pyramids. The group that does theirs an pyramids says from the start that they're going to make a posterboard with facts on it. The other group is full of artistic students that want to make something that's really awesome, but they don't say what they're going to make. Now, the group that did theirs on mummies did a very basic posterboard that's very interesting, informative, and well done gets an A+. The artistic students ended up making a cross-section sculpture with and animated mummy, special lighting effects, music, and a corresponding PowerPoint Presentation to go along with it. Because they didn't set a goal for themselves, they got a D-. Which group was more deserving of the A+? The mummies group put in a small amount of effort, but set a specific goal for themselves, while the other group put in hours of work and didn't set the goal. Again, I'm trying to be calm while expressing my feelings in an educated way. Thank you for your time. ~Conjoin. If you feel like you did a good job and made a difference, who cares? Why do you need Dan's smiling seal of approval for what you did? It's not like there is some thousdand dollar prize other than e-hugs.

Not seeing =/= Not existing. I highly doubt Bree made those quotes up.

Then it was not Dan's fault. It was you who missed that part. And an important part that was.

I didn't see either of those things. And sometimes my dog eats my homework. It's okay, life goes on!

Congratulations to the people who came up with these awesome projects, I wish I would have been able to participate, but my studies have been demanding most (if not all) of my time lately.. As for the people who 'failed', also congratulations, keep it up and try to do just a tad better next time Also, read the whole 'assignment' so you're sure you don't misinterpret it

Well they could have easily contacted each other through private messages, and if so, you wouldn't know that they did talk to each other.
