Simply put, my biggest fear is dying. I'll go into more detail about it later (it's 3:30 a.m. right now).
What is yours?

@byron I'm scared of death too =( But I love heights. I think it's soooo cool being at the top of a high building or something and looking down on the ground... like the CN Tower in Toronto, L'ard de Triumph, or the Eiffel Tower.

I fear death, and not being of any use to the world.

"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself... and spiders, those things are f*ckin' creepy!"
But seriously, probably burning to death. I don't know why.

I found a free writing exercise I did a while back when I was experimenting with different Ideas. It pretty much explains my fear. Even though I edited it to make it more coherent, it still has that stream-of-consciousness quality.
The dictionary definition of a memory is,"the cognitive processes whereby past experience is remembered", but to me it is so much more than that. Everybody is, in essence, built upon their memories. In some fields of thought, there is nothing more important than one's memories. The memories of our past shape and mold our current dispositions, and one's future dispositions will be shaped by his or her experiences in retrospect.
On a more self-centered note, memories will eventually define my existense. As disheartening as it sounds, it's my belief that we exist simply to exist. As much as I would love to believe otherwise, I cannot. I was not given the gift to believe in a supernatural afterlife full of perpetual bliss and happiness. Some would consider that staunch rationality a good thing, but I find the sleepless nights and thought-provoked panic attacks more of a curse.
In the end, we lie ourselves down to die, and the only thing that we have in those moments are the life we had lived. Filled with memories of the ones we loved and hated, our actions and the subsequent consequences, and even our regrets we simply slip into a state of non-existence.
This state of non-existance is what I fear the most. This fear, to me, goes far beyond any ordinary fear that I had felt before. Normal fears arise when encountered with the subject of one's fear. If one fears spiders then he or she will feel afraid only when a spider is present. My fear of non-existance, though, comes from nothingness. It presents itself as an innocent idea usually coming from an unrelated subject. I follow this line of thought almost methotically, knowing completely where it might lead. Yet like a child in a candy store, I can't help myself.

Greatest fear...well spiders are one of them...probably.
Death is not one of the things I am scared of. When I die, I know that I will not slip into nothing. (Now dont start discussing here, go to the afterlife discussion for that) I just feel as if death is natural.
One big fear I have is growing up. Its kind of a half fear half joy. Im joyful because I get to face the world, but I fear that as I grow up I might lose my inner child, which is what probably is my biggest fear, of being normal. Im gonna be one of those people who love life and take advantage of everthing, and is gonna have fun doing it. At least i want to be.

Going to hell I actually don't fear death itself because of my brain surgery. I thought i was dead for about 8 seconds (Which surprisingly is a very long time!).
