Well as someone who had been forcibly christian for their formative years, faithless until I was 17, then had a religious experience in a Malaysian Dharma Buddhist Temple, I'd be pretty annoyed if my daughter went all God-believing on me. Especially since both atheism and buddhism would be offered to her (both Godless belief systems). However, from my own experience I can tell you that it is not always forced. at last! another buddhist! though I'm not actually 100% buddhist O.O

1.What will your parents do if you change to a different religion or believe? What my parents did was just..ignore it...When I started telling them I had different beliefs (After I had already decided WHAT I believe) they just ignored it, and still havn't mentioned it again 2.Are there some of you that only acts like a religious person, but in reality you believe differently? If yes, please tell my why you choose to keep your believes a secret from the people around you?I havn't experienced this personally, but I do know several that have, the main reason for hiding your beliefs seems to be a simple one. People attack other of their beliefs, their religions, even their sciences, you can't just tell anyone you believe something, you have to justify it and undergo huge amount of scrutiny just because of ideals YOU hold. It makes people want to keep their ideas a secret. 3.If you are a very religious person, do you have a problem with other people's believes? If yes, please tell me why it offends you? l love hearing other people beliefs, almost no one I know fits into a specific religion, almost no one is entirely baptist or entirely catholic and they form their own variation of the beliefs that they we're tought or that they chose 4. If you are a Christian and you have a daughter that converts to Buddhism, how will you react to this? While I havn't yet gone through this, I will say that I entirely open to letting my children believe anything, I do not plan on keep the different variations secret or anything like that, their beliefs are their choice and should they choose to disagree with me they are likely to be better off anyway lol 5. If you are a Buddhist and you have a daughter that converts to Christian, how will you react to this?Same answer 6. WHAT CAN WE PHYSICALLY DO TO STOP THIS RIDICULOUS RELIGIOUS PROBLEMS? simply put; Be Accepting of Other Beliefs

I'm already past that age (just recently though), but haven't started doing that. I'm not quite motivated towards that right now, so maybe I need to rethink what I actually want from religion..

I never like to bring up the subject of personal beliefs as I'm always afraid of offending someone who believes differently than I do but when the subject is brought up to me I'm not going to ignore it.
Now as the topic asks "is religion forced?" I'm going to answer only what I think based on what I have personally observed over the years and this is going to be a two part answer.
Part 1: Yes religion is forced in some religions it is actully part of that religion that you can no marry outside of your own religion and they are typically the ones who show up at your house at 7 am and stand on street corners handing out pamplets telling people about all the ways they're going to hell and that accepting Jesus is the only way to save their souls.
In regards to family situations because a child's first teachers are their parents they are likely to believe everything their parents tell them as fact. This is only true however so long as both parents are consistant with the same beliefs.
And I do find all of this to be offensive as it deminstraits an "I'm right, you're wrong additude" when in reality neither side has ever been proven right or wrong.
In fact I've noticed that every religion in my area which include Jewish, Christian, Moreman, Jahova's Witness, and others are actully all the same. They all seem to believe their own version of the bible is proof of the exsistance of God. However there are minor differences in each religion's version of the bible. For example most religions and historically it's a known fact that Jesus died of starvation tied to a cross. However Jahova's Witness don't believe in the cross, they say he was nailed onto a wooden steak with his hands abouve his head and bled to death. Anyway the point is how can every version of the bible be right when there are so many inconsistancies like that.
Now I have not seeked any of these religions out, every single one of them however at some point or another has tried to recruit me into their religion and when they first approach me I do listen to what they have to say and ask questions about the stuff they talk about. Most of them are actully my friends but I've noticed that whenever I question something they can't answer like how a religion is agenst incest but believes everyone is decended from Adam and Eve. And Just so we're clear I'm not saying incest is a good thing, I'm agenst it too, I'm just saying if religion honestly believes that we all decended from Adam and Eve then there's really no way around it, everyone is family suposidly. Of course there is a bit of what I like a call a plot hole as it seems Adam and Eve weren't the only 2 people as an entire village had formed fully populated just a few miles away from where Adam and Eve were living after they were kick out of the garden of Eden and no bible ever exsplains where this village came from and no one I've asked about it can exsplain it either. They just get frustrated with me and say "God put it there."
That's predy much how every conversation goes, I get currious about how anything in the bible is actully possible then they get frusted and come very close to throwing the bible at me.
Now durring all this time I think maybe 3 people at the most have ever asked me what my own beliefs are and not just tried to push theirs on me. With that I move to...
Part 2: No religion is not forced.
Now I personally grew up in a family where both my parents do not believe in the same religion and as such it was left up to me to make up my own mind as to what I should believe in which I am greatfull for and in the end I ended up not sideing with either of my parents or for that matter any known religion or scientific theory as I've found them all to be rather personal, opinionated, and unproven.
That being said my own beliefs are equilly personal, opinionated, and unproven. However I am not going to go around mindlessly trying to get others to believe what I believe based on what little known facts I do have and I'm not going to tell someone else their wrong just because they can't prove it and it seems a little silly to me.
Now oddly enough on the topic of dreams I mentioned that I once had a dream about being an Amish man. Now durring the course of this dream this other person who I had become in the dream eventually went threw a religious practice where they send people of age out into the real world for an amout of time and allow them to choose on their own if they want to stay out in the real world or come back to the Amish church. My dream persona ended up leaveing the church to become a fire fighter.
Now what's really odd is that when I woke up in real life 8 hours later it really felt to me like 90 years of this guys life had gone by, the last few years he had alshimers and finally died before I woke up. So when I woke up I did not understand why he had to leave his family to be a fire man as that didn't fit with what little I knew about the religion at the time. As it turns out this was a real thing I found out a few months later and I think it's amazing.
As far as I know however the Amish are the only religion that practice this and the one thing that does suck about it is if you choose to stay in the real world you appearently can never be accepted into the church again. But still you're made well aware of this before you make your choice.
Come to think of it that is kinda of a threat... Would be much more appealing without the part about having to leave your family.
And I've even found a few, not a lot, but a few people who are more open to accepting people with different religions despite their own religion telling them to recruit everyone else or they'll go to hell.
Really why does everyone use the "you'll go to hell if you don't believe everything we do" threat. You can't even prove it exsists, not much of a threat.
Now I'd just like to point out that at no point in this post have I said what I personally believe in only what I don't believe in. And the over all answer to the question is yes. There are very few people who do not try to force it, everyone else does. Even the goverment which is supose to be seperate from any church still puts "in god we trust" on all of our money.
Anyone remember a few years ago when an athiest man was offended because of the line "under God" in the pledge of allegence. I'd really like to know why "In God we Trust" being printed on money never came up durring that time.

1.What will your parents do if you change to a different religion or believe? I have done. I believe they would accept it, but to be honest I still haven't told them because I see no real reason for them to know. None of us go to church anyway, so... meh. 2.Are there some of you that only acts like a religious person, but in reality you believe differently? If yes, please tell my why you choose to keep your believes a secret from the people around you? If I am visiting a religious household and am asked to pray I will do it with them out of respect. They know I don't believe their religion and they don't try to convert me so I try to be reasonably co-operative. 3.If you are a very religious person, do you have a problem with other people's believes? If yes, please tell me why it offends you? It upsets me when religious people use their beliefs as an excuse to hate. The amount of homophobia within Christianity was what started turning me away to start with, and when the religion in question is presented as having a loving God I do indeed have a problem with that. Again, I don't people I think that what they're doing is hateful but they know I don't agree with them. 4. If you are a Christian and you have a daughter that converts to Buddhism, how will you react to this? Accept it, and expect her to accept me back. Lack of acceptance breeds hate, and if there's one thing I hate, it's hate. 5. If you are a Buddhist and you have a daughter that converts to Christian, how will you react to this? Ditto above. 6. If you as a parent force your child to believe in your own religion, why does it not count as a cult? Religion is socially acceptable, cults are not. 7. WHAT CAN WE PHYSICALLY DO TO STOP THESE RIDICULOUS RELIGIOUS PROBLEMS? Accept. Be loving. Lead by example and others will follow. Do not insult and treat the beliefs of everyone else with respect at all times.

1.What will your parents do if you change to a different religion or believe?I am, in fact, a different religion from my mom and dad. My mom is Buddhist and my dad is agnostic. They are okay with my atheism and, in fact, encourage debate. 2.Are there some of you that only acts like a religious person, but in reality you believe differently? If yes, please tell my why you choose to keep your believes a secret from the people around you?I am very open about being atheist. Therefore, this question does not really apply to me. 3.If you are a very religious person, do you have a problem with other people's believes? If yes, please tell me why it offends you?
I'll reverse this question onto all religions. I do not have a problem with other people who believe things, but the religions themselves anger me to no end. We have allowed, for millennia mind you, a set of easily contradicting and sometimes falsifiable beliefs that are based on some higher figure of which there is no indication. These erroneous beliefs lead to sometimes delusional conclusions, such as the age of the Earth, and prevent mankind's understanding as a whole. 4. If you are a Christian and you have a daughter that converts to Buddhism, how will you react to this?I would be tolerant, especially of Buddhism. 5. If you are a Buddhist and you have a daughter that converts to Christian, how will you react to this?I would be tolerant, yet fairly upset at the belief with no evidence. I hope to bring my child up understanding scientific law, although attempting to not let my prejudice against religion show so that he/she will have their own choice. 6. If you as a parent force your child to believe in your own religion, why does it not count as a cult?
It would count as a cult. Forcing of religion is ludicrous and parents shouldn't do it. 7.WHAT CAN WE PHYSICALLY DO TO STOP THIS RIDICULOUS RELIGIOUS PROBLEMS? I don't really know. It is very difficult to uproot something that has been basic "Knowledge"' for years. There are also some people in this world who need it. There are some who's morals are based off of it, or NEED to know that they may see their loved ones again. These people CANNOT face the idea that after death there is nothing, and those who feel that bad people will pay eventually. These are the people who can help people benefit through various things like church functions. Religion isn't all bad, but there are many extremists, as is human nature, that can do horrendous things under the word of "God." Something that I will always be angry about, however, is that no matter how much I believe in God, he has affected my life greatly. Same goes for all of you as well. Are your parents religious? Then they probably taught you morals and ways of life that they received from their various religions. Are they not religious? Then they probably teach the morals that they agree with from what they have heard about religion from their parents or other religions. I do not remember consciously making the decision that murder is bad. I was told from an early age that it was bad because of a variety of reasons. Although there are TONS of reasons that murder is bad that don't deal with religion, I'll never know if the idea that murder is bad would come naturally if you weren't told about it. In this sense, religion is forced on EVERYONE, in one way or another. Also, on a closing note: i do however believe that there is some higher power that created the universe. otherwise "what is the universe?" and "how did it come about" you tell me. The belief that everything needs a creator is an erroneous one. There is no reason that the Universe couldn't have been the first thing. If you accept that the Universe MUST have a creator, then you accept the belief that that creator MUST have a creator. This would go on forever and nothing would truly be a creator of everything. And: i tried lots of religions and my parents supported me through all of them (even satanism) even if they conflicted with what they belive I must ask you, I have heard 200 different views on satanism. I am not satanist in any way and I will never be. I know a few satanists, one of them tried to curse me, nothing happened, to be honest, thing turned towards the better for me. I personally believe that something will only work for you if you believe in it, and I don't believe in Satanism at all. And just for the record, this satanist that tried to curse me did not have good attentions, if the curse worked it defiantly backfired on him. Please give me a detailed definition of what satanism is? I will not be offended unless it involves animal abuse or killing in any way. And I do know that in some satanic rituals blood is used. tell me more. And I will never be interested in being a satanist because I know it does not work. I just want to know more. Satanism is an odd one. Satanists don't actually worship Satan as a deity, and, in fact, are atheist. However, they base their "religion" off of the basic human rights of everyone that they design. Most of the time these go to the extreme. The best example I can think of at the moment is that everyone has a right to privacy in their home. From this, they say that if you ask a guest to leave, and the guest answers that they will not, the housekeeper has a right to kill them. Here's a site on it: www.religioustolerance.org/satanis4.htm
