If you're against legalizing marijuana then you are stupid. Okay, even though I'm all for marijuana being legalized, you need to watch what your argument is saying, because calling someone stupid is a logical fallacy. It's called the ad hominem. It doesn't support your argument.

Legalizing it would make it a whole lot safer, though. Plus, it's less time for the police force to be wasting. You sir, coulcn't be more wrong. If people can get it at a certain age, they'll sell it on. If they can buy it without the risk of getting caught, people will throw their lives away just to get it. It'll be epic fail. You've never done it have you? No one would throw their lives away to get it, it's a mildly pleasant feeling. Like having a bath . It doesn't feel like having a bath but it's not much more pleasant than having a bath. Plus having a long bath can't make you throw up so maybe you could argue it's even more pleasant. Anyone here who feels like you're missing out; Just have a bath. Legalize it for medical purposes, it's an excellent pain killer and anyone who knows someone who has been on prescription painkillers knows that they are addictive and interfere with your ability to speak to the point where you sound like you've had a stroke. My mom was one called "Lyrica" it when she hurt her back and couldn't walk for a year, in the end she decided it was better to live with that horrible pain than to stay on that horrible drug. Even now whenever she slips up in speech (like anyone does) we tease her and say "Oh! That's the lyrica!" Anyway codeine is legal in Ireland.. and America too right? That's an opiate! You only need to take it for two days to become addicted! How is that more acceptable!? I got a much better high on codeine when my appendix burst, it was like sailing away on a boat. But not for recreational use. People who say it has no long term effects; you say that because you're young. Wait till you see what your stoner friends are like in 10 years. They'll be idiots. Long term use turns you into an idiot. It really does.. or maybe only idiots use it over the long term, I don't know. alcohol is more predictable than marijuana Maybe it's because I'm Irish, i don't know, but I found that hilarious.

Cannabis should never have been illegal in the first place. It's basic human rights for a start, surely they can get that right?

Cannabis will always be Illegal, it would take a pretty big political movement to get politicians to admit that they're wrong, and I'm not sure all the pot heads in the world would be able to organise themselves effectively. Haha, see what I did there? Stereotyping is fun

Legalise all drugs, everywhere. If it were legal, it could be regulated, & jobs would be created, & the people who already grow it could get some workers rights and so on. Win/win, if you ask me.

I recall a recent incident here in the UK. A government advisory board reached the conclusion that cannabis is no more dangerous than tobacco, and advised the government to legalise it. The head of the board, a Professor Nutt, was fired. Fired for doing his job- advising the Government. As much as the drug is no more dangerous than alcohol or tobacco, political pressure simply won't allow it to be legalised.
The exception to this is most likely California, as this could have some sort of floodgate effect if it is indeed legalised there.

Though that is quite interesting that it's going to voters. The UK is suuuuper stuck up about drugs n all that, and with elections coming up and all the recent news about Mephedrone, it wouldn't be in their interest to try and get a law passed for legalising Cannabis.

The thing is that what is good for individal person is sometimes not good for society. So as long as you want to live with garantee that you will have all your basic needs provided by society you wont get everything you want as individual...

I'm all about decriminalizing it but not legalizing it. I don't want the government changing the pot scene nor do i want the government making a profit of it. It is was legalized they would be mass producing it, and it will become filled with chemicals that are harmful like cigarettes. No thank you please. I'm all about the home grown reefer. Decriminalizing it would make the users safe. Jails would not be filled with moderate users who got caught. I have a whole rant for this, but this pretty much sums up my opinion.

I personally don't use marijuana or ever foresee using marijuana, but I believe that any actions by consenting adults should be legalized....or rather decriminalized. So yes, we should "legalize" marijuana.

Marijuana should, and will be legalized. It's a plant that grows in the soil,it's natural,it was there even before we were. It's not a chemical that was entirely made in a lab. It's a fucking herb. So what the fuck is their problem. Marijuana is an excellent pain-killer,stress-reliever,time-passer,party-maker. Personally when I'm high,I'm more concentrated and productive than ever. And people become peaceful and nice, they never lie,but they never tell the truth in a rude way. They become concerned, careful. And don't get me started on love making while high. Most intense, heavenly experience ever. Of course you have your bad trips, but the majority of times it's a pleasant experience. See,wouldn't the world be a better place if weed was legal? Everyone would be peaceful and happy (I sound like a hippie pothead)

If alcohol is legal I don't see why Marijuana can't be. The only reason the United States hasn't legalized Weed is because they can't tax it, thats my opinion.

I dont think society should promote a harmful/negative substance. There is already too much of this and I would hate to see it further promoted.
