So I did posted a YouTube video a while back about what I think of PETA (which is here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kw4ddRmej7A ), and I wanted to bring that discussion here. The short version of my stance is this: By taking such extreme measures, PETA hurts the cause of animal rights far more than they help them. What do you guys think?

Oh hey, I saw that vid when it came out. I think I was actually the one who mentioned PETA initially in a prior video's comments. >.>
I partially agree with PETA's stance, and highly disagree with their methods for the same reasons you do. I say only partially agree with their stance, because their position (their "noble cause" as it were) is to end any and all killing or suffering of animals at human hands, period. I'm not personally convinced that all hunting is inherently evil or wrong. But on that issue we could agree to disagree -- their methods are the true problem, and they do more harm than good to the cause of animal rights.

I don't have a problem with hunting, so long as the hunters actually make full use of what they kill. Hunters that kill just to put another head on their wall, that's just sick. And a little creepy.

Agreed, hunting for sport is inane and barbaric. ALSO: PETA 2 >>>>>>>> PETA

Hmm? I've seen PETA2 come up as a name before but I guess I always assumed they were just another branch of PETA or something. What's the difference? Why is PETA2 better?

PETA2 is PETA minus the crazy blood-throwing et cetera.

Extremists deter support from any cause, whether that be vegetarianism, animal rights, feminism, religious faith, etc.
