I agree with Nick and Asher, really can't say much more than that.
and Picnic, I hadn't noticed that patter, but I think you are right. Most of the people who were disappointed by the project are 20 and older. Not going to say it means something, but... well lets leave it at that...

I wonder how much counter-promoting we can do!
Strip Dan of his power!

The real goal is not to be counter-promoting, but instead to enlighten both Dan and those that blindly follow to what has really happened and how they both have failed.

But counter-promotion is so much more fun and devious.

I know. I'm just being me ^^ ^ awww, there's harmony in the forum... Ok but seriously, Dan isn't all of SPOTM. Yes he keeps the triad thing going but there's tons of other stuff I seriously wonder if he knows about. Look at NESC or some of the successful projects that have started on the forum. Look at the way people are starting to know and treat each other. This is what a tribe is about. Look at Zak's thread "WE HATE YOU". The way I see it what was said proves a tribe is forming. Amazingly it was eventually agreed (I say “agreed” more democratically) that the "HATE" people expressed was towards Zak's actions not him personally. Realize most people would rather kick someone they “HATED” off a forum then take the time to ask for a change in behavior. NOTE: don't start talking about Zak on this thread, this was an example. (Zak I realize you will probably read this. I'm sorry for typing this in third person. I hope you don’t have a problem with this…) Like I was saying... The forum isn't about Dan because when it comes down to it he doesn't have the hours in the day to be a part of everything we do here on SPOTM. Now, I wouldn’t mind if he popped in a little more often, but really, is that going to happen? So Dan’s super-secret-secret project came, and then it went. Big whoop... Now what? Now I say we do what we've been doing. We finish the projects that have been started and then use the relationships we make within our little project for bigger projects. We have enough man power to do something. We can’ let one man's project become all this forum is about or let it divide us. Let's finish what we've started and keep dreaming up bigger and crazier ideas to do!

Realize most people would rather kick someone they “HATED” off a forum then take the time to ask for a change in behavior. You might be partially right, but I'm still sure that most of it was just people hating my posting style. SPOTM is against excluding people. Based upon my actions, one would have to be less productive and more disruptive than me. But yeah, I am also tired of failing projects. The forum isn't about Dan because when it comes down to it he doesn't have the hours in the day to be a part of everything we do here on SPOTM. Now, I wouldn’t mind if he popped in a little more often, but really, is that going to happen? No, we are still a Dan Brown fan club. A super-majority of people came on this site from a link in one of Dan's videos. They were hoping to meet people of the same values, morals, and ideals. They also liked Dan's videos so why not join? We are a Dan Brown fan club. It's no coincidence that everyone here likes Dan Brown.

Such a waste of time.. Asher is totaly right. We need our old Dan back. I remember "Crocs", "BIGFOOT", "Peing in the shower" or even "Haiti" or " Dreams" those videos were awesome as hell. Since DBU season 3 week 3 DBU wasnt DBU anymore. With huge dissapointment, Me.

We need our old Dan back. I remember "Crocs", "BIGFOOT", "Peing in the shower" Bad videos. If I wanted something mildly funny and random I'd watch... pretty much any other Youtube channel. That being said, I did expect more from Dan. But now that I think about it, I think it was foolish to expect a huge, world changing, mind blowing project. Dan's a 20 year old Youtuber, after all.

I guess Dan & colleagues overhyped this project. I mean... this COULD be world-changing like he said, but not yet. You guys are only disappointed because you've grown so used to it over the past 7 months. It's been overhyped, you were expecting more, yeah I get it. It's "not all that world-changing, how could it possibly be implemented into the real life government?"
But hey. People, everybody, who have not been following these threads at all. Random watchers of Dan's announcement, who aren't even a part of the moon. They were all SO excited about this project. I mean, most of them are absolutley BLOWN AWAY by it. Because they had no idea what to expect. This is all something new for them. They might not know the backstory to it, they might not know that this is all just a social experiment... but hey. Just sayin.
It just seems that for those people who are disappointed, there are only two reasons you guys say so. Being disappointed that it's not as big as it's been hyped up to be, and that you aren't sure if this experiment would actually be world-changing/the aftermath/ how this could possibly be implemented into real life/ I don't know how else to explain it.

i'm not saying that you shouldnt participate, and i'm not saying this project can be very cool, and quite the social experiment. have fun jocelyn, i'm not going to take that away from your or anyone else. this was an open letter to DAN. not carter...not jocelyn...not dan's viewers...to DAN. you all are welcome to comment on this thread all you like, but understand this: no one is going to take away your excitement for this project. however, i, and apparently quite a few others are extremely disappointed.
now that we are clear on that point...have fun running his life, and lets see what you can do. leave us to be disappointed, we're working on a different project anyway. we will pick up where dan left off. we will make the project we wanted. if this teaches us one thing, it is not to place too much trust, or expectations in one person. if you want something do it yourself, and that is what we are doing. dan had his chance, now it's ours.
think about it this way...what if the world knew that albert einstein was a great scientist, and what if he told people he was going to revolutionize the world with his scientific discoveries. what if he told people he was working on something that would change the course of history. what if after all that, he invented a motorized toilet paper dispenser. now i'll grant you that would be cool...but from him...? come on...

what if after all that, he invented a motorized toilet paper dispenser. I lol'd BTW, If I had known nothing of this project, if I had never seen a dan brown video in my life, if I had never visited the moon and saw dan for the first time at VidCon and heard his project, the most he would have gotten from me was "Huh, well that's neat. He's so gonna eat roadkill."

I have actually struggled to see SPOTM's place in Dan 3.0. I have a hard time seeing how it fits with what he have been saying since November.
Considering the project as such, I am not going to make any premature conclusions; I'm still skeptical but I do see the potential in the system he will put in our hands. And it might be a total success. Or it might be dead/made silly in 6 months (most people on the internet eventually lose interest, after all). But time will tell.
However, how does SPOTM fit in? Is it just going to become a big discussion board of what Dan should do next? Well, then we might as well add the subtitle "The Dan Brown Fanclub" to the current name, as Zak's ignature suggests. I don't know about you, but for me, it kinda undermines the purpose of the Pogotribe (or at least what Dan has made it seem the purpose was). We're not even that closely connected. Most of the "connection projects" (triads, for example) is on the decline, and it will not be made better by an influx of people eager to discuss what Dan should do the next week.
I don't know, it just seems contradictory.

I suppose that SPOTM and Dan 3.0 are completely seperate. I just think it's weird how much he promoted SPOTM in his videos and then to have his Secret Project have nothing to do with SPOTM whatsoever.
I'm boggled.

wasted talent...
As far as connections though I have met a great group of people here, excluding Zak of course whom everyone hates. <3 And have had my thoughts on many issues change drasticly due to the interactions here with other members. I am disgusted at the talent and resources that are here that Dan is wasting and at the same time please that the members themselves are not letting that same talent go to waste. The whole is greater than one, and this project is suppose to prove that. You are an ignorant fool if you don't see that, yet Dan's attempt to "prove" it is a total waste.

Where is the pogotribe's place in Dan 3.0? Perhaps we should come together to make sure the project doesn't fail? Just a suggestion. I mean... It has been hyped up so much. By us pretty much. Now that it's announced, we don't really want to let it down do we?
