So right now almost everyone is talking about God, Jesus, Creationism, BLAH BLAH BLAH. Well here is a major subject change. Homosexuality + Marriage. I believe that Gay/Lez people should be able to marry. 2 reasons: 1) If two people love each other then why shouldn't they be able to marry? 2) Why do a man and woman have more of a right to be married then a man and a man or a woman and a woman? There are no PROVEN reasons to why people are "Gay" but here are Four: 1) Is homosexuality caused by environmental factors, such as upbringing, child molestation, or an absent mother or affectionate father 2) Is it something we’re born with, an inherited trait, like skin or hair color 3) Is it a choice 4) The hormon is all screwed up I Think that they should be allowed to marry and i think it's 4.BTW I relize there's alot of grammar problems and crap like that but I'm to lazy to fix it lol

The reason why people don't like gays is because they don't like the visual and it makes them feel uncomfortable. Also, many Christians think that people will go to hell if they are gay so they try to prevent gay people from being gay, even though that isn't really possible.
Biologically, organisms are designed to be straight, so being gay is an 'abnormality'. It's not different than anything else. People need a group to put lower than themselves. It's been like that throughout all history. Now that black people have equal rights as white people, at least in America, we've seemed to move onto gays and Mexican immigrants. After that, we will move onto another group we're not comfortable with. It's human nature.

To date the only arguments I've seen against gay marriage have been religiously based, and usually fundamentalists at that. (A fundamentalist is anyone who holds so strictly to a set of rules or ethics that they reject any potential change to them. For example, a Christian Fundamentalist is one who takes all of their morals from the bible, and therefore opposes gay marriage because the bible says so. Anyone who gets their morals from the bible but is willing to adjust their stance or change their mind is not a fundamentalist.)
Frankly, there is no legitimate argument against gay marriage. It doesn't affect anyone outside the marriage. So why not?
Homosexuality is observed in animal species as well, as a note. It's not a 'choice.' I don't think inherited trait is accurate either (in that gay parents do not have gay children).

OK!
This is something that is always being brought up through the media and I think its a load of crap. Why should people even care what other people get up to? How does two men or two women bother anyone else. I am gay and I think we should have every right as all the straight people out there.
No body should be any different, we should all have the same human rights regardless of what sexuality we are.
Lets be honest straight people have more of a bad name in the media than gay people at the moment so who really should be banned from getting married. (By this I mean all the affairs people are having lately)
If people think that only straight people should be married are very uneducated.

Way to go...then why do majority of men like to wank to lesbian porn...jeez,even when I once happened to kiss my friend in front of a few boys they all got boners ;D and about gays,I just think people are hypocrites...

In the defense of men, we like hot girls, it's even hotter when you multiply that by 2. In reality though, most lesbians aren't hot, but more so resemble manliness. Hehehe

I see nothing wrong with It, If a person wishes to be a certain way I'm certainly not stopping them. I find It humorous how It Is considered an 'insult' among younger people to be called homosexual, and to call something a person does the same thing. It has happened to me a few times, my answer always being: 'no it's not and what would It matter If It was? Nothing'

Most gay men are queens, I just don't know enough gay men. The ones I do know are. I would never say something so irrational as that ALL of them were. Most. That's the key word.

No. You can't even say most. You can say that most that you know of are, but you can't say most. That's like if I grew up with a bunch of fat people around me, then I proceeded to say that most of the people on this planet are fat greasy bastards. I know that most people aren't, but by your logic, I can say that they are based on the people I know.

If most gay people I know are queens, then I can say that and everyone listening knows that is only my perspective. Perception is reality. If what I see is red, and you see it blue, I say that it is red. Therefore, it is.

Most gay men aren't "queens" (that's somewhat of a derogatory term, by the way. You might as well be calling them "flamers" or "faggots").

Well, yeah. That is stereotyping to an extent, but not so much if it's all you know.
By the way, I didn't use the word queen as a word of my vocabulary, I was just referring to what punchjunky said.

In reality the really "flamboyant" type of gay guy is a rare species and also the super-duper manly "butch" lesbian too. I know that there is a part of the lesbian community that are typical angrogynous dykes, but not all of them are. Gay people vary as much as straight people. I don't stereotype straight people,so why should they stereotype me? Generalizing a certain type of people always makes me so mad, every single person is different and unpredictable. For all I know we can never be certain.

I think gays should be allowed to marry, for mainly one reason. It's basically like what Voltaire (a writer from the Renaissance/Enlightenment era) said at one point (or at least believed very strongly):
"I do not agree with a word that you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
Except in this case, it isn't words. It's a choice of marriage. Though I may not agree with gays, I still think they have a right to choose how they live their life.

The reality is that we'll tend to notice the ones that stand out, while we don't notice the ones that fit in. The perception of most gays having certain attributes is mainly caused by the fact that most people don't even notice the gays who are otherwise just like everyone else.
Media stereotyping (such as in sitcoms) doesn't help either.
