I'm way too physical with people.
For some reason, I always have the urge to pet someone's hair or sit on their lap or hug them. This is really inconvenient if I don't know the person well, and makes for very awkward moments...
So, my goal is to reduce the amount of physical contact I make. I'll try and catch myself before I reach for someone, and tryand always be holding onto something so as not to feel the need to touch other people.

Good plan! I used to have the "pet someones hair" problem, it was a while before i noticed it and then someone else recoiled in terror and I realized.. my god... what am I doing..
I'm a big bag of bad habits.
How old are you? I think it's difficult when you make the transition from kid to adult because when you're a kid you're allowed to and expected to sit on laps and touch people and hug people and rub their hair and poke their cheeks and anything you feel like doing.. and then as an adult you must do absolutely nothing. Then we get this amazing sense of awkwardness when we're teenagers like we have no idea what to do with ourselves.

As a teenager, I still have moments where I'm just like, "Did I really say that? ommmmgggg I'm such an idiot!", even if it's from years ago xD

Yeah, and not just as a teenager, for the rest of your life.
There were so many things that made me think "Oh this is just an awkward teenager thing, I'll grow out of it." that have actually just gotten worse and worse! But there's other things that have gone away, and so far there's no point in my life where I can't fight my own personality and try and make it better.

It's fine with my friends, but with strangers or aquaintances it's quite awkward.

It's been a week since I made my goal, and here's what I have to show for it: colorfulmagiccat.deviantart.com/Most of them are in the Scrapbook section because they're line drawings. I'll probably end up using the line drawings as part of my art final. I'm sure that I'll be able to keep this up because it really isn't too hard.

Very cool! Great job! colorfulmagiccat.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2pyai1 < that one's especially good. Line drawings are underrated, if you make a mistake in a tonal drawing it's harder to spot because the tones give the eye so much to look at that people don't notice immediately.. but there's no hiding in a line drawing! Think about using gimp to bring out the brightness and contrast: www.gimp.org

Thanks for the feedback. I'll be sure to bring out the brightness and contrast in the next pictures I put on there.

Hello, mind if I join this little topic? ;)
I've had a problem with going on the computer to much (like a few of you have said) for a while. I have finals this week and I've spent much more time on the computer than I have studying, which is a huge deal because I have a D in math and I took my math test this morning. I think I did okay, but I don't want this to happen again. Alright, now I'm getting a bit off topic. Everyday when I get home from school I get on the computer. I check youtube. I play games. I go on pointless websites like Failblog. I want to stop, but it's addicting. Any ideas or tips on what to do? (BTW, this is the last week of school so I'm going to have even MORE free time that I'm probably going to waste on the computer >.<)

Another problem that I have is that I always avoid doing homework and "boring" projects. I have one due tomorrow and I'm not even halfway done. I did my best to stay of the computer this morning (this is the only reason that I was on, to tell you about this) but I still just wasted my time instead of doing my work. What should I do to help stop this?

Don't use speed dial or anything like that that shows you your favorite or most visited websites as your home page because you should only look at something if you want to, and not out of habbit.
Try to make it impossible for you to go online at home during the week, for example by asking your parents to put a child block on the computer during the week or by loaning some vital thing (like your internet cable) to someone else to take care of)
Self-ban from a website you're registered on by changing your password to a long string of numbers you know you'll forget in 5 minutes.

If you have to do something, make a list and put it on your monitor, then take off the list when you've finished those things. That usually works for homework, but if I don't have anything to do but want to keep myself off the computer, I have someone change the password on my computer to something they know but I wouldn't guess. For the summer, maybe you can pick up a hobby or something.

I need to stop having depressing images running through my head when im having a bad day. sometimes I have visions that people are out to get me, or that i randomly hurt people. that kind of thing. it paranoys the hell out of me. but the worst thing is, i don't know where they come from, but it needs to stop

There was really good advice from Randy Pauch's wife once.. When he only had a few months to live every time she thought about it she said "Not helpful." and stopped herself.
I find it's useful when I have bad thoughts to have some mantra like that ready to nip them in the bud.
Well done cow! So next time study hard and get all As!
